I was (and still am) a clarinet player who began studying classical music in Jr. High school. However. growing up in West Philadelphia ("like Big Tim") slipping into Blue Note, going to The Earl, but also experiencing summers filled with music that you could hear through open windows everywhere, 421 Club, Luckies, etc, etc., etc., and surrounded and mentored by the earlier generation of Cleff Clubbers, I had to play the saxophone! With a host of more distinguished others on saxes like Archie Mc Daniels, Rayburn Wright, Clarence "C" Sharp, and Tony Williams other fellow travelers like Jimmy Bonds & Eddy Mathias bass, Clarence Watson trombone,, John Houston & Oliver Collins, piano what a time to be alive and learning to swing! And the beat goes on.
Oh my goodness this is so beautiful man Grover would be so proud of all of you guys this takes me back both of my grandparents with big Grover Washington Jr fans they seen him perform live a bunch of times in the early 70!

Yeah! Beautiful! 😊💙
Love to see the young guns pushing the art form of Jazz forward.
Important Correction: "Mr. Magic" was in fact composed by Ralph MacDonald. And NOT by Grover Washington Jr.
Grover Washington Jr. was from Buffalo NY not Philly.
