  • A Walk in the Old Portsmouth, is truly a breathtaking scenery.
Knowing that this site carries significant naval history. This was the very same spot were Jamaican spices was dropped off hence called “the spice Island”.
In this walk you’ll see the massive and long naval defence wall the surrounds Portsmouth. The gun platforms, and the round tower that serve as a fortification at the entrance to Portsmouth harbour. A defensive chain that could be raised in an emergency was built from the round tower across the harbour entrance.
One of the two cathedral in the city of Portsmouth is the anglican cathedral that lies in the heart of old portsmouth and it’s called Portsmouth cathedral, see its majestic architecture, unfortunately the cathedral was close during our visit but the outside Greek architecture was amazingly beautiful.
Surely going this far you wouldn’t miss the royal Garrison Church, a church that was built about 1212 by the Bishop of Winchester as part of of a hospital and hostel for pilgrims. This was also used as an ammunition store. Although the nave was badly damaged in a 1941 firebomb raid on Portsmouth, the chancel is still roofed and furnished. Fine 20th-century stained-glass windows depict scenes from the Secong World War.
    Hope you enjoy the tour.
