Fragmentation Grenades are super great also. Add one of them to the attack pool, get at range 1 (which they can very often) and just devastate everything. They surge to crit (normally have no surges), which boosts their damage potential and versatility (great against armored targets) at the same time. They still get the Up Close and Personal doge token and have their great armor, so get close and light up every kind of enemy.

How can you use your rocket with the normal weapons if the rocket is range 4 and the rest 1-2/3?

The rocket is range 1-4, as stated in the video.
If only one number is show, that is the Maximum range, not the only range: legionquickguide.com/#measuring
