This is the Hebden Road level crossing at Ravensworth NSW, which is located on the Main Northern Line between Singleton and Muswellbrook.
These signals were installed some time around 1997. Both signals had unmarked bases, Western Cullen Hayes gate mechanisms and Alstom/United Group lights which were mounted on Henkes & Harmon brackets. The eastern signal had a Safetran Type 3 electronic bell which rang from start up until the gates rose, while the western signal had a Western Cullen Hayes mechanical bell which rang until the gates lowered.
One odd thing here was the sign on the relay bungalow which read "Singleton, Hebden Road Crossing" when the crossing was actually 20 kilometers north of Singleton! The yellow sign was correct in naming the location as Ravensworth.
At the time of filming the crossing was in the process of being grade separated, with a new overpass being constructed nearby, it was opened to traffic just a few weeks later, with the crossing signals and infrastructure being removed on July 31, 2018.
    Train information:
1st train: MR959 Pacific National empty coal from Newcastle to Moolarben, with locomotives TT115, TT108 and TT02.
2nd train: Genesee & Wyoming empty coal train is heading north behind locomotives XRN013, XRN002 and XRN026.
3rd train: BE924 Pacific National coal from Boggabri to Newcastle, with locomotives 9209, 9202 and 9203.
4th train: Locomotives 5010 and 5043 are heading north with an Aurizon empty coal train.
    Filmed on May 29, 2018.

    Was the Safetran E-bell Replaced?

No, the Safetran e-bell replaced a mechanical bell which had died. The crossing has since been removed.

Great video! That WCH mechanical bell sounds pretty rough and flat!

Thanks! It's a shame that the WCH m-bell sounds flat, pretty sure it would be the original bell because it was painted. At least 20 years on a busy crossing is a good effort for a mechanical bell :)

    Awesome! Love the bell combo!

The overpass blocks the view of the oncoming trains in one direction, luckily the crossing isn’t passive!

Yeah it would be chaos if the crossing was passive. Can't think of many passive crossings which have been grade separated without having active protection in the meantime.

5:56 I think that coal train was 97 cars long!
8:27 nice catch of a Gensee and Wyoming train! I've only seen less than 10 of their orange and yellow olocomotive in person! (they have railroads all over American and Europe!)

Thanks! Didn't know that G&W were in Europe too, they sure get around. Don't see many of their trains around home (Sydney) so it makes a nice change.

UPDATE: The bridge here has been brought into use and the old road has had fences installed on it. At this stage the signals remain in use.

Thanks for the update, sounds like a similar situation to the crossing at Bomen which still hasn't officially been closed.

They’ll probably leave the signals in place for a while. When the crossing at Hermitage Rd, Belford was removed, they left the signals in place for nearly 6 months after the road was closed! Yet when they removed the crossing at Lochinvar, the signals were removed the day after the bridge opened!

Hopefully the signals last long enough to film them again.

You need to update the info

    Nice catch and vid!
