How to Set Up Madrix Software Using DMX LED Strip

The Madrix software is a great tool to easily and efficiently control different types of LED matrix style set ups. With the Madrix NEO on this video you can control up to 512 DMX channels.
The first thing you want to do is to count how many pixels you have in your X axis of your LED pixel layout, and also your Y axis. Once you have this information, you want to go to the preferences tab, select matrix generator, and change the XYZ values to that of your Particular set up.
If you are in a snake mode be sure to select snake mode, meaning your pixel rows are bridged with each other. Once these parameters are set you are almost done. Now, click apply, then Ok. You are now ready to generate wild visuals.

Great video. I never thought of this but can you save the effects somewhere on a Neo or Luna? What I want to know is if the strip will continue to work if you disconnect your computer from it. Needless to say, for some applications, if your computer needs to be connected all the time, it's not very handy.

It is possible to make them strobe, or dim in and out, so to answer your question yes it is possible.

One question:
I dont want to set up a matrix. Ive got a 2 meter 120 LED strip and I want to seperate them into several parts (not physically ofc).
Is the software able to do that?
for example:
*LED* 0-10 in color *a*
*LED* 11-19 no color
*LED* 20-85 color *b*
it would depend on your strip, if it is addressable, if not you will need a DMX controller and cut it into the segments you want to be controlled, you will also need to see where your strip can be cut. The software is capable, you need to see if your LED strip is.

Could I use the software without the DMX to run the strip separated in multiple parts?
Unfortunately we are not to familiar with those LED's, we do not carry them so I am not to familiar with their use.

Neo will give you 1 Universe (512 Channels) to work with. If you have 35,000
pixels, it depends if it's RGB or RGBW. If RGB then it's 35,000 x 3 = 105,000
channels (205 universes), so you need 1 Madrix Ultimate license (256 Universes)
If RGBW then it's 35,000 x 4 = 140,000 channels (273 universes), so you need 1
Madrix Ultimate license (256 Universes) plus 1 Madrix Professional license (64
Universes) Pre-loaded designs are offered in Madrix software.
how many Leds can Madrix Neo controls? does it suport ws2812 strip model?
it can support up to one DMX universe, and it does not support that model of LED strip

Neo will give you 1 Universe (512 Channels) to work with. If you have an RGB
(each LED is 3 channels), if you have RGBW (each LED is 4 channels). Example:
If you have 10 LEDs (or pixels), that are RGB (3 channels) in one row, and you
have 5 rows the same. Then it's 10 x 3 = 30 channels per row, 30 x 5 = 150
channels total.

gracias por tu pronta respuesta, pero estaba viendo en algunas partes que las cintas led s2801 o la ws2812 no son compatibles o no funcionan bien, que sabes si tiene algo de veracidad eso?

Es correcto, algunas Strips digitales (SPI) son muy inestables por esa razon nosotros recomendamos usar Strips de DMX.

Hello, I'm not sure if the density on our LED tape would portray the image well, but if you are familiar with the programming I believe it can be done.
if one has the madrix demo mode,will it still control the strip in demo mode?
