  • Hello from Ghent, the student city and ultimately the most underrated city in Belgium 🇧đŸ‡Ș In this video, I'm visiting Ghent city center, Gravensteen castle, and many more beautiful and medieval spots. If you are thinking of one day trip to Ghent or Bruges, watch this video before your trip 🧳
    It takes about 40 minutes by train either from Antwerp or from Brussels, so it makes the city a perfect destination for a weekend trip in Belgium. The city is well known for Ghent Light Festival or Ghent Christmas market. The city center is just stunning, and if you're a Harry Potter fan, Ghent should be on your bucket list ✹

    Just a small correction. 4:36 Many cities call themselves the Venice of the North, but Ghent is not one of them. You're thinking of Bruges, Belgium ;)

      indeed. This vid is quite "ignorant" actually. Harry Potter? Has nothing to do with Ghent. Canals/Venice? Nope. The core essence of Ghent ("Lam Gods") was totally missed here. Please don't trust Wikipedia :-)

    Is food and drink expensive in Ghent??

      @irynastravel  Pƙed 2 měsĂci +1

      Depends on the location. Central and tourist spots are more expensive, as everywhere. But generally the prices are pretty normal 😌

      2.5€ for a regular beer, 6-7€ for a glass of wine, and approximately 20-25€ for a quality meal.

    Not sure what planet you are from but Ghent is actually not underrated. It is only outside of Neighouring countries that people only know Belgium from "Bruges". Both flemish as well as walloon part of Belgium appreciate Ghent very much. Try "Leuven", you'll be even more surprised. And "Antwerp".

      I’m from the same planet as you’re, nice to get in touch. Ghent is not as popular as Brussels or Antwerp for ppl outside Belgium, but you kinda explained that yourself already. Not sure why criticise when tourist discover other destinations in your country and say great things about it
