I truly believe God lead me to your channel. I’ve been prayerful in preparing to relocate from South Carolina to Texas as a single mother and didn’t know exactly where to begin. I told God I cannot do this without His guidance and invited Him to lead me on this journey. My son and I are truly excited to go on this journey together. I am so looking forward to the mentorship you both are preparing. It will be a true blessing for me. I have a plethora of questions 😂 so no worries. I will definitely post them soon.
I’m glad you guys decided not to share what you have been growing through together on this platform. I was yelling at the screen saying No! Don’t do it!! as y’all were questioning each other as to tell us or not 😂 I just believe some things should be kept private until the time is right to share the testimony. Blessings to you both and I’m looking forward to the content you all have for us. Thanks for doing this!

A topic you can cover is if you are moving to Dallas alone what are events, clubs/groups and places that you can go to meet people and make friends

I’m moving to Dallas in a couple of weeks. I’d love and appreciate a video talking about the different areas and demographics like Fort Worth, Plano, Downtown, etc. I’d love a video on MUST TRY restaurants and MUST HAVES (for example: Toll tag, car, sunscreen, bug killer spray, etc)

We lived in McKinney for a year after living in Atlanta for 20 years. My sister has lived in the area way before it was built out more than 15 years ago and therefore was able to get in before housing prices have gone up considerably due to the influx of Californians. We were disappointed during our time there because it appears that it is progressive due to all of the growth, but it seems like opportunities are reserved for people who work in specialized areas such as construction, medical (nurses/doctors) and Teachers. There were not very many career opportunities for people outside of those arenas. I have a Masters degree in education, but could only secure part time employment. My husband secured a position with the City of Frisco and the pay was horrible. I think people need to de their due diligence before making a move there. They need to go and stay for at least 2-3 weeks and commute around because that may be your life if you move there. Housing prices are atrocious. My niece works as an apartment associate in the district near SMU in a hub where there are a ton of apartments. When she first moved there she paid $900 for her 1 bedroom. That same place now rents for $1300! We lived in a 2 bedroom back in 2016 that rented for $1500 which now rents for over $2000. If you don’t mind spending that kind of money on housing that you don’t own then go for it. We owned 2 homes in Atlanta and wanted to put down roots in Dallas, but didn’t see how when we could not land comparable employment because I did not have a teaching certificate. I had to go through a program that cost $3k to get certified. I am not saying that there aren’t people out there making it in Dallas. I am saying make sure you do what you need to do when you decide to move. What does that entail?
    1. Do not move if you don’t have an income of $50k or more
    2. Visit for at least 2-3 weeks.
    3. Use all job location outlets available to you
    4. Make sure you have a nest egg of no less than $10k
    5. Budget early.
    6. Service your vehicles before you go because you will be driving.
    7. Don’t get caught up in the hype of eating out because it is tempting AND it can be expensive.
    8. Most importantly, keep God in the center of everything because you will experience bumps in the road and you will need to lean on The Father to make it through. I hope you aren’t put off by me sharing our experience. God bless you in your new journey 🙏🏽

Thank you so much Chris and Melissa for deciding to do a daily videos regarding moving to Dallas for the month of May! I personally am beyond grateful! ♥️ I’ll be celebrating my birthday there (Texas) in roughly two weeks! 🥳
My family and I are relocating at the end of July, 2022. I’ve doing a lot of research, praying, and my emotions are all over the place! 😩 I know God gave me this vision to move there, but narrowing it down to a safe, affordable, and nice location has been a bit challenging. Any suggestions on diverse affordable counties in north Dallas? I have two in mind, but idk.. Thank you both in advance.
