- Milo threw me last week and ever since then he’s developed a new move because he realized that if I fall, he gets to gallop around like a maniac. Note- he is on a REHAB program. I cannot lunge him. My saddle fits, he just saw a chiro and YES, he absolutely would do it bitless, bridleless or at liberty if we gave him the opportunity but he is not meant to run around like a maniac.

Y’all are adorable. When Milo is bad in a bit, you blame the bit. When he’s bad bridleless or bitless, you blame the imaginary bit that you hallucinate because you’re so desperate to blame something. When a certain someone’s horse is bad in an improperly fitted hackamore and rears, he’s “just excited” but when a horse is “just excited” after being off for rehab, it’s just “pain” to you. Your bias is really sad and I wish y’all put as much time into actually doing something about animal welfare as you put into coming onto my account. Some of the money that you’re helping my Adsense generate is donated to rescues and saved so I can continue to promote adoption and adopt for myself. So, I guess you can feel like y’all are doing something useful in that regard 🙄
Shelby Dennis Milo looks good, i dont see any head tossing or opening his mouth like horses that dont like a bit. Maybe a little less contact, but not at this point. You didnt even hit him when he did..... whenever that was, you kept steady contact the whole time. Ignore the haters. It takes so much to bring a horse back. Good job for getting a chiro, too many people don't know horses can need them too. I'd recomend deleting nasty comments/banning said nasty commenters or setting a comment moderator. Another channle that breeds minis gets lots of hate but the comment section is kept clean and polite.

I swear the people commenting must own a dead lame horse or no horse at all. Every single horse whether 'always good' or 'a little naughty' will pull their own stunts. They're live animals. This isn't The Saddle Club people.

How interesting. I watch a few Equestrian CZcamsrs and usually none of the comments are about how their hands are so hard, and bits are bad. Is this just the end result of Shelby disagreeing with the "bits are bad" bandwagon owner? Her "fans" come over and criticize?

It's funny because then you go and see them praising people who are practically breaking their horses nose putting way to much pressure on a hackmore or using an ill fitted hackmore because it's "kinder" and "won't hurt them." Just goes to show they have no clue what they are talking about.
Exactly - any type of tack or equipment can hurt a horse if used incorrectly, even brushes and rugs! Bits are not the enemy, ignorance and carelessness is.
Honestly as a bitless person myself I enjoy Shelbys videos, and don't really understand the crazy comments she gets. I'm not fond of bits but I can say that Shelby is one of the few examples of riding properly in a bit. Even in professional riders/show riders you see lots of hard hands and rough treatment with gag bit combinations, and it's nice to see a rider who sees their horse as more than a tool to win ribbons with. While I do watch raleigh and discourse in the bit debate (personally I ride in non-mechanical hacks and rope halters/bosals) i will admit many of her fans are a little on the crazy side. I'm of the opinion that soft hands make soft horses, but you need to be firm sometimes and have proper discipline. Of all the equestrian CZcamsrs I've come across, Shelby is one of the only who use bits properly and don't use extreme force-- even when the horse is being a dick 😂. I have loads of respect for this girl, and Milo is obviously well trained with all those bridless videos we've seen. It's idiotic that there seems to be two extremes on the bit debate but few people who are more centristic and logical when it comes to it.

When you canter the race horses, does it matter what lead they are on? I noticed some of the horses were on the right lead but tracking left.

Milo is bucking because he probably just LIKES bucking. Some horses just do, and will buck and let rip in a field without a rider. I used to ride and look after a Chestnut Thoroughbred mare who bucked like a so and so, it was just high spirits, nothing wrong with her, and ridden on a loose rein [loose ring racing snaffle]..she had large quarters and plenty of power in her rear end to get some powerful kicks in.. one would just have to Sit them out, as one's world was momentarily shaken and blurry. :)

Shelby Dennis I know that, my uncle owned 15 racehorses and when I was sprung 5 or 6 I rode one of them and I was told that when they're galloped it's called breezing and they're only breezed every 4 or 5 days. (So said my uncle)
I envy your riding skills with the bucking. There is nothing worse for training than a smart horse learning bad habits that can be dangerous!
