    Thank you for the free pattern! I am making the top for my 10 year old granddaughter who measures 32" bust and really no cup. She's wearing it with a Tahitian outfit for a dance recital. I made the small and it was too small for her, so I'm making the medium (more conservative). My question is I am using a cotton fabric provided by the dance program. Will the elastic provide any benefit for her fit - I don't have the rubber elastic, just regular elastic. Thank you!

    • @EdgewaterAve
      @EdgewaterAve  Před 4 lety

      Yes, it creates a long term problem! The fabric will lose its shape/stretch over time, but the elastic is what keeps the fabric in place. Plus, it provides structure. I have a lot of customers who don't use elastic and have no issues in the short term, but overall it's better to use elastic wherever possible!

      @EdgewaterAve  Před 4 lety

      For some styles, yes. However, I recommend getting a regular machine first since it is sometimes necessary for styles like this one! Plus, it's a good way to get the basics down, then if you like it you can move on to an overlock. You can make any style using a zig zag stitch on a sewing machine!
