Ibobi and Biren are both hypocrites. Meitei and Kuki leaders created the KNA to counter the NSCN, forming a strong alliance that opposes every move of the Nagas. The Kukis gained the upper hand, dominating every department of the Manipur state government. They initiated a covert agenda to promote a leader to the top bureaucratic position, or even to become the Chief Minister of the state, necessitating funding. Thus, they began investing in drug production to generate money. Believe it or not, every Kuki district has thousands of poppy farms.
Meanwhile, Meitei leaders were complacent, metaphorically sleeping in their cozy beds, unaware of what was happening in the state. Suddenly, they realized that the Kuki people were engaging in illegal poppy farming, leading to soil erosion. There were also reports that Loktak Lake was in danger, which might eventually become dry land. This prompted discussions in media houses about narcotics, and new labels were ascribed to the Kuki people.
With the Meitei's strong alliance now needing to take action, it was the Kukis who acted first in Churachandpur. It has become clear that one should not trust either Kuki or Meitei leaders in Manipur anymore; they are hypocrites who wear sheep's clothing, but inside, they are like ferocious wolves

It’s not the deal everyone knows the cause. This has nothing to do with kangpokpi and tengnoupal. It is to provide better administration imagine yourself coming from tengnoupal to chandel dc for small paper but necessary stuff is a long journey. War begins from poppy field’s and govt could have handle immediately , it was indeed state and central govt’s fault. Hn PM did come for vote campaign but for this matter what did he do something still? He came gau he could reach here it’s quite near. It’s not time to play blame game so focus on the facts. It is time think together as one and solve this issue.
It has everything to do with the current situation. The formation of kangpokpi was one step towards kuki claiming the district as their own land over running some of the land that belongs to Naga. There is a reason why kuki celebrated in a big way when kangpokpi district was formed. You don't realise it's importance as a small step to strengthen their claim as kukiland.
The administrative issues were only an excuse. He knew that the Naga were not going to vote him and by doing so he would get the support of the kuki. The Congress party was in power for 15 years why did he divide the district just before the election at the end of his third term. If it was only for the governance,he would have done it long before in his first term.
