    I've used this system for a number of years now. I took similar dents out of three King tubas right in a school band room in about 30 minutes. Some of that time was moving the tubas around. This method won't do every dent, but in the places it will work it is a tremendous time saver.
    To help prevent scratches, I first lubricate the dented area with a heavy application of Pledge furniture spray wax. When finished, I just buff it to a shine.

    That is ingenuous have you tried to glue a thin piece of felt to the bottom of the magnet. It would slid without scratching the instrument? Just a thought.

    Instead of using the drum pad, why don't you just use a microfiber cloth and wrap it around the magnet with a rubber band or something. Seems to me it would be easier to move around with out scratching the surface, and would probably be easier to handle. Just a thought. Seems to me it would be easier.

    What if your balls get stuck inside? (hahaha) Why not just use a piece of polishing cloth betwixt horn and magnet? Get rid of dents while shining the brass.
    What happens if more than one ball is used at a time? and of different sizes?

  • @saxmusicmail
    @saxmusicmail Před 11 lety

    No, the tiny balls needed to fit in that small tubing will not generate enough force to take out those dents.

  • @seanwoodfin99
    @seanwoodfin99 Před 11 lety

    No. The amount of magnetic force the size of those balls would make is not enough to get rid of the dents.
