  • I am modifying my XK120 FHC in order to make it easier to drive. This is the first in the series.
To follow will be electric steering, T5 5 speed transmission, hydraulic vacuum assisted clutch.

That is one gorgeous auto, and the one time in automotive history where the hard top edition looks so much better than the convertible version.

Nice work on the seat and an appropriate upgrade for a good reason. You might consider looking at a Kirkey Vintage seat. The vintage has a low back and is made to a high standard and is fairly inexpensive. I modified mine for further reclined position. The 120 is beautiful and looks amazing in silver.

Thank you for the suggestion, but the Kirkey vintage seat looks too upright for me and the sides too high for getting into an XK120 daily. I do like the seat from England I mention in the video with a good lay back angle.

I hope the mods prove enough to prevent any further back pain, it's be a shame to have to part with the XK, it's a thing of beauty..
Who needs matching numbers anyway! I know a firm in England who do a brilliant fuel injection conversion with Emerald ECU if you ever wanted to make it more driveable, economical and improve performance all round. Designed by Dave Walker of Emerald (ecu)

The seat looks purposeful and blends in well. It's almost a shame to upholster such a lovely aluminium design but unless you're a masochist it's a necessity.....

Purposeful is the perfect word to describe it as used to be a race car seat.
