- This song has always been one of my favorites from movie themes from the 1960s. Written in 1962 for the movie Mondo Cane, it was nominated for an Oscar in 1964. Composed by Riz Ortolani and Nino Oliviero, and played live by David and his Open Art Orchestra. (This arrangement turned into "theme and variations.") lol

Goosebumps indeed a organ player myself listening to this makes me what to get back into making vids for CZcams also as don't really use the organ these days as my everyday thing but brought up by my Granddad to play the organ and play in a few clubs I really appreciate all these type of vids here Very good job indeed

Yes David, it does bring back "fond" memories. I sent a link of this to her and told her I always thought of her when ever I watched this video. She told me she could understand why since I used to play this song for her every day for 4+ years on my Conn organ.

I actually put the split-screen in for you, because you are always interested in the footwork & pedal switches! You'll notice, at the beginning, I use one of the switches as a piano sustain switch, then change to a rhythm-fill switch. At another point, the right switch is used to turn on some strings in the melody line ... glad you enjoyed!

It all works together beautifully! You and I are alike in that we can appreciate a clear-cut melody alone, and then enjoy building around that melody. Wonderful job!!

Ayer tuve la oportunidad después de casi 50 años de ver nuevamente la película y me inundó de un sin fin de recuerdos de mi juventud. Y con esta melodía también me hizo recordar cuando se bailaba de “ cachetito “ , que estupendos momentos reviví, y quien no, con esta y muchas más de excelentes melodías. Entonces nos embargaban los buenos modales y el romanticismo, qué desgraciadamente ha ido desapareciendo. Recordar es vivir.

David, thanks very much for the explanation re: the footswitches and also for putting in the split video! Very much appreciated! I do like to watch your footwork. You really do make it look so easy. Out of curiousity, how long does it take you to come up with the registrations for a song, practice it, record it, etc.? I am guessing hours of work?
