    Got mine a month ago. I'm a first time EV owner and am very satisfied realizing the various quirks and downsides. The lease hooked me. It is incredible to drive. Acceleration is similar to my old 2019 WRX CVT !!.

    I leased one for about $300 a month - $100 cheaper than the model Y and $200 less than the Mach E. I don’t want a Korean car or an American car either. It’s incredible to drive this car and it’s quick enough for me - like the fella said - it’s no problem passing anyone. The range is better than my previous Leaf so it’s good for me. I charge the Solterra every other night. I don’t think the Tesla would get me through 3 days on a single charge anyway. Overall, I’m really happy with the car - I see so many Teslas, it’s nice to be different even though the Tesla might be better for most.

      Thanks for watching, Ron! I’m glad your Solterra experience has been positive! 🙏🏻

    I love my Solterra. I got a great lease deal $213 a month for 36 months at 15k a year. I have a 12 mile commute to and from work so it is a good deal for me!

    • @shelby371

      @@jo2522I had a trade in that had $8000 equity plus the $7500 tax credit that the dealer put into the deal since it was a lease, I didn’t put any other down payment on the lease.

    I don’t disagree with your assessment, however the Solterra is not marketed to potential/current EV drivers. It is meant for current Subie people. If you are a long time Forester or Outback driver, the Solterra makes sense.

      That’s kinda my take away as well. It’s pretty obviously a bridge car. And that’s ok

    I bought my 2023 Limited CPO and loving it so far. Mostly local driving so range and charging speed was not my main concern.

    looking at the base model....almost $10k off the msrp......and then the $7500 rebate on top of that. Good deal eh?

    Not bad but too expensive. You could buy a Forester and 5,000 gallons of gas.

    I have had my 2023 Solterra for the past 16 months. I like the car BUT I hate the regenerative braking. Not aggressive enough. It's not even close to Tesla or Hyundai. Charging is slow and range is not great. The worse thing about this car is depreciation value. My car has dropped more than $20,000 in value just in one year. If I could do it over again, I would have gotten a Hyundai Ioniq 5 or the Tesla Y model. Probably the Hyundai because the warranty is better.

    • @MetzTech
      @MetzTech  Před měsícem +1

      Even with the regen all the way up you feel that way? I appreciate the owner feedback! That’s helpful insight

    • @sonpit
      @sonpit Před měsícem

      @@MetzTech oh yes! The problem I have was … I was spoiled with Hyundai and Tesla before buying this. My brother and friends had one. I thought the regen would all be the same. Not even close. Max regen on the Solterra is S Pedal. It is their version of one foot driving. With Hyundai and Tesla you can literally drive the whole day without ever touching your brakes. Not true with Solterra.
      The two main reasons I wanted an electric car was to get rid of the engine and regen braking. I was not able to test drive the Solterra before buying because they were not in stock and my car was delivered specifically for me.
      After a year I tried to trade it in but losing $20,000 in value did not make it worth it so I decided to keep it. Tesla offered me $25,500 for my $50,000 car.

      @@sonpit I'm assuming based off of context clues you purchased instead of leased?

    • @sonpit
      @sonpit Před 10 dny

      @@LatestViralMoments I started off with a lease (to get the $7,500 rebate) but paid it off after one month because the lease fees were so ridiculous. If I was to do it over again (besides not buying the Solterra), I would definitely lease because they are offering a much better deal now (most likely because the car is not selling well).
