I also have CollectA amd Schleich. I also started with Schleich, but just as you said the realism is going downhill since 2016, so I started to pick my faves from Schleich and also started to look for CollectA. I also collect Traditional Breyers and pick my faves also from them.

Funny that I find this after I get my first Schleich horse. I got the Tinker Mare and love her so much. Both of these collections are neat and I think the best option is: diversify and pick what you like from each brand XD

I am obsessed with the collecta Missouri Fox trotter mare! I have like three and I have done one repaint! I turned her into my horse, Swilly!

I feel as though schleich is losing there quality! I have a bunch of the older ones and I love them but I donât prefer the newer ones.
Yea!! The 2021 horses look A LOT better than this year's. Hopefully they have more detail and are just better in general.

I am pretty happy with most of the 2021 schleich horses they did this year some Iâm not sure about but most of them I like Iâm still with schleich because I have SOOO much of it and I can use them and I still love schleich , collectA is good to but I like schleich but this is my opinion

Schleich need to up their game a little. Their older horses are SO much better. It just feels like they're putting less effort into them. I hope they star improving their models because if they dont, over a couple years, everyone will turn to a different brand because of their lack of nice models. The only ones who will buy them then are kids who dont care and just buy them for playing with. I only collect schleich, i have a few papos but from years ago. I would collect other brands too, but schleich is my childhood and i want to hold onto that for a little longer. The 2021 models look so much nicer than this years, so im hoping it just goes uphill from there.
Edit: *My opinion* I'd say the trakehner stallion is schleichs best model. The shading is just AH đ and the markings..... MMMM just so good. He isnt my favourite but he is just so much better than all the other models.
I think they should stop doing common breeds too. And when i say common, i dont mean common as in you see them a lot i mean common as in everyone has heard of it,if you know what i mean.
I agree, the only good 2020 model in my opinion is the Frisian mare. The braided hooves are just such a pretty detail!!! Schleich does need to up their game, and I haven't seen the new 2021 though.
I agree, it's pretty disappointing to see how the quality has gone down in recent years. Something else I'm noticing is they are tending to re-use models more often and just change the coat color or resusing breeds. I just hope they put the effort in like they used to. Haven't bought one in a while, at least for the newer ones.
@@Anastasia2048 Me too, I've been getting the ones from a few years ago online and comparing them, and the quality of even the repaints has really downgraded.
@@Markyweewubus1 Even the plastic feels cheaper. They used to be about high quality and realism. What happened? Not worth the money for how they look and feel right now.

I love schleich but I'm hating their new models so I'm collecting the older ones but I think ima get some collecta but I'm still going to buy schleich horses
I started with Schleich but I must say my heart goes to collect-a. I like the older Schleich but not the new ones but the collect-as I find to be more realistic.
I prefer schleich collecta is easier break also collecta I find have more scratches and get them easier I like both but schleich better
Yes I have a collecta and that is the newest horse Iâve got but itâs gotten so many scratches and looks like my oldest horse even tho itâs my newest!
I love schleich and Breyer collectA is ok I donât collect it and I prefer schleich a lot more and I also think collectA is not my style some collectA models I hate I prefer schleich (this is my opinion)
Breyer makes most models for collecting to have on a shelf except the one made for playing which you will know what are so it would make sense while they are realistic they can get scratched easily

Oh my gosh. I didnât even think about putting blankets on all of my schliech when Iâm done with them. Thanks so much for including that in the video. I must make more blankets for them then! Do you have a simple, quick blanket tutorial that doesnât take long and only needs felt/fabric and 1 or 2 other items (scissors donât really count)
I have a few Collecta's as well. The only thing that is often not well done on Collecta is that they spray paint or airbrush the mane color on so that often results in some of the main color around the mane on the body or some parts of the mane that aren't painted at all. I have the Fjord foal in grey dun and that one is probably my favorite model horse foal ever. It's so so cute and the color is stunning. That one is about the same size as the Shetland pony from Collecta and fits in nicely with the other Schleich foals. I also have the Fjord stallion but in the grey color and I just love that I now have a fjord that isn't just regular old cream colored. I also have the Ardennes stallion and I absolutely love that model. I live in Belgium so Ardennes horses are quite common around here and the pose he has is exactly the pose those horses do right before they start pulling a cut-down tree in the woods. I have the Camargue too. That one is about as big as the Schleich Hanoverian models so it's taller in scale than Schleich because Camargue horses in real life are between 135cm and 150cm tall while Hanoverians are between 160cm and 175cm. Hope that helps someone out who's deciding on which ones to buy.

I definitely prefer the CollectA models.I am definitely a stickler for Correct over Cute(not that I am indifferent to cuteness,mind you!).I've looked at Schleich over the years-they're always present in the toy aisle-and only bought one,the Friesian stallion,because I felt they made the lighter horses,like Arabians,Tennessee Walkers etc look thick and coarse.I saw a picture of the CollectA Arabian mare online and thought she was worth taking a chance on,and I was not disappointed.She's beautiful,refined and very detailed.I have a few more CollectA horses but my main focus has been and still is,Breyer;but I'm seeing other CollectA horses I like so I'm sure I will own others in future.
Now,if you were talking dinosaurs...I think Schleich does a good job on their dinosaurs!
In my opinion Papo is the best when it comes to the dinosaur figures. When you compare them to Schleich, Papo blows them out of the water.

I am Scottish and have been around Native ponies for coming on 58 years and I have never seen a spotty Shetland like that before lol! It doesnt look anything like dapples...Typical Breyer ludicrous looking paint job! The Schliech looks more like Shetland colouration but youre definately right that the CollectAs sculpt is more realistic. That CollectA Missouri Foxtrotter has a weird leg...Although its detailing is more realistic, I couldnt live with that leg so would choose the Morgan hands down!

i pretty much only buy retired horses,i do buy the accesories/sets by schleich that are not retired. I do have one 2017 and a 2019,but the rest of them are 2003-2010. I'm not a big fan of Breyer and Collect-a.

Where do you buy collecta in stores? Like what stores carry it?
Happy Hen toys, Minizoo, and Amazon all carry it. But very few in person stores carry Collecta. There are some independent or local stores that do, but almost no chain stores(in person ones at least) do.

It entirely depends what you want it for. If you want a barn for looks i think collecta is the best. If you want to play with them, use schleich. They scratch slightly less then collecta

Collecta is a very detailed brand of horses I mean schleich is to but 2020âs new schleich horses are not quite that detailed :/

I think the newer Frisian mare is super detailed, with the braided hooves. If she isn't 2020, please let me know, but I think she is.

Yea I have noticed with owning Schleich that their horses have something about their heads and faces which bug me? I collect used and damaged horse models to repaint and customise and something about Schleich horses just bug me out. I have considered switching to collecta because I can always afford second hand breyers and yea I donât really like Schleich horses.

Schliech got popular because of the too realistic look, now it's less popular due to the cartoony look

In my opinion in recent years Schleich has really gone down hill quality wise. I find the Horses to feel cheap and look less realistic and too cartoony for my liking.

umm i recomend collecta its biger cheper more detail i am colecting collecta there amazing rlly good cuality totally recomend collecta and schleich is kinda strange the hooves are soooo big for that small horses the colors are meh but if you buy something from schleich i recomend the riders and saddles have a nice day/nigth ;)
Well, collectA is a LOOOT more realistic. While other model horse brands are going for more realism, Schleich is just turning to cartoony for these last couple of years. But I have both. What I found is that CollectA's break more easily. Idk if it's just the way I package them (bubble wrap and a cotton pouch thingy when I buy them from the store and when I am going somewhere) or if it's a fact that CollectA's break easily. Idk...
