And you still believe the things coming out of a politicians mouth with out holding the to enormous scrutiny and skepticism? I was 18 many years ago before I first voted and I didn't trust a damn thing coming out of a politician's mouth, and if it did sound reasonable I wanted to see their track record, wanted to know if they had any scientific backing for their platforms and policies and if they were elected if they actually followed through.
Politicians are not going to save us. That's never happened in my lifetime and it won't until the people structurally change their own communities first. Change starts at home with community contribution, scientific understanding to build sustainable abundance and prosperity with what we have available to us.
The dumb idea of endless capital economic growth while tearing away at the life support systems on Earth and destroying the environment is completely unsustainable.

What are you really worried about it? Is it money? Is it jobs? Is it health? When has a politician helped you? When have they had a track record of being in favour of sustainability and human health rather than corporate profit maximization?
Maybe a system of private control over the means of production for profit isn't sustainable? Many young people are understanding this. It would be nice if you could join them.

The other bad thing about Liberals is no one seams to realize that the carbon tax was a bad idea recognizing it needs to go. They had no idea of the drastic implications it would have on Canadians. They did not try a 5 cent per litre carbon tax rather 41 cents soon to be 61 then later higher. I will never vote Liberal or NDP because this extreme taxation on struggling Canadians is pathetic.

How about no. Separation is the dumbest idea around...it was for Quebec and it is for Western provinces. What does a separate west do for national defence, national infrastructure, its own currency? If I were PM, day one of Western Separation looks like this. All Federal offices move out of the west, including the RCMP, Service Canada buildings, any federal funds earmarked for the west is immediately cut off, any military bases are shuttered and all equipment and personnel moved, and since you're no longer Canadian citizens, you now need a passport to enter Canada. Anyone who thinks that Western Separation is a good idea and will be a huge success is delusional and is not rooted in reality. Also....what are you going to do with people living in Western Canada who don't want to separate? Make them leave their homes? It's not as cut and dry as some people seemingly think.

Western Canada has more natural resources than the entire Eastern Bloc, so without Ontario shackling us, we’d be just fine!
In fact; if we actually did separate, I’m guessing half of Eastern Canada would be racing to cross over!

From an Indigenous people's perspective, wealth is having enough to give. And a classic understanding of wealth is that 'health is wealth." And that wouldn't be a selfish thing. One healthy person surrounded by many poor, impoverished, addicted and desperate people in a toxic environment isn't as healthy as a community full of people with access to basic needs, less work to do to keep everything running and lots of free time to spend how they wish.

I propose we rely on the people and resources in our community who are willing to co-operate together to create sustainable abundance and prosperity, which has been technically possible for years, but we haven't been using the right system. Now we have the chance to shift in a better direction. I do not expect politicians to save us. I expect people united towards a common goal will do wonders.
Our local communities, wherever we live across Canada, as long as they are more than 5,000 people can create and volunteer to contribute to a Community Cooperative that includes all manner of community projects and businesses. The idea would be that we create sustainable abundance and prosperity based on the resources we have access to and the people who are willing to contribute 3 hours a week to these projects. Just 3 hours. They can continue whatever other work they have, but 3 hours a week to these projects will be increasingly rewarding. These projects will be creating, building and servicing essential needs like growing and distributing food, clean water, energy, providing healthcare, education, clothing, housing, art restoration and more. All members who contribute will get free access to the goods and services provided by the co-op projects because they are considered co-owners. All excess goods and services will be sold to non-members for less expensive prices than typical businesses can charge. The profits will be evenly distributed to all members as dividends. It is all voluntary. People sign up to join, voluntarily. Existing small business or community projects join voluntarily. New businesses or projects are created by people voluntarily. Eventually, more people join, more is done with less work from each person needed.
We have been going the wrong way for a long time. Working longer and harder hours for less pay (not keeping up with inflation or productivity rates) and our health is suffering. We can reverse this and start heading in a better direction, by choice and by unity. One Small Town strategy with Michael Tellinger for more.

Trudeau has no clue and neither does Smith. They all have no clue, or have not openly admitted, that the truth is the economic structure of capitalism, which drives our system, is unsustainable. It trends towards progressive destruction, always, mathematically and consistently. Why do you think cost of living is worse now than it was in the 1950s? 1970s? 1990s? Hmm? Anybody look at the pattern? Capitalism causes more income inequality and encourages more resource production and extraction without scientifically sustainable standards or humane standards in place.
It is not the federal or provincial government who should be controlling this. It is us people, in our communities, with a unified strategy to get off this disastrous road onto a better path that can help us. A community co-operative plan. Voluntary, yet rewarding. Turning communities into places of abundance and prosperity. Doing more with less. Working less, but having more free time. That is possible, but it isn't going to happen by shutting our eyes to the truth, blocking out conversations and standing still - or worse - going faster downhill.

Remember when Danielle Smith's UCP shut Alberta down, closed schools, forced businesses to close, they even fenced a church to close it, even abused school children!!! Then while Danielle Smith was running for party leader she promised to help the patriots that stood up to the UCP and that were charged with crimes and massive fines, promising legislation to give the unvaccinated rights and backdating legislation to make the fines void!!! And then once Danielle Smith was elected UCP party leader she shelved the legislation and could not even be bothered to make a phone call to get the prosecutors to back off, and lift their fascist boots off the necks of the Alberta patriots that opposed their dictatorship!!! She even hired more prosecutors!!! Did she do it all just to win the leadership of the UCP? What has she done to help patriots?

Alberta voters voted in a winner in Daniel Smith, she has the heart of a lion and and truly deserves credit for her political views on federal government interference, overreach and political corruption that divides Canadians coast to coast. Well done Alberta ! She is the right person, at the right moment to be Alberta’s spokesperson and leadership. Now if we could just get someone of equal standing here in BC 😢

You have an incredibly well spoken, clear and direct Premier in Danielle Smith. I'm happy to hear that most of the other Premier's are following the lead and gaining momentum. The last thing we need to do is give Trudeau more power than he already thinks he has. I'm surprised his head hasn't swelled and floated to the moon.

Yes, the root problem of capitalism being unsustainable is solved just by federal government staying out of provincial business. That's how it has always worked, right? Politicians save human beings. People don't do it through collective work together, the politicians are the saviours of mankind and corporate profits. Well, the second part is pretty true.
But maybe people don't want to live in a cancerous anti-economy driven by capitalist incentives? Maybe, if given the choice, locally, they could co-operate to contribute a sustainable abundance of essential goods and services and do more with less. Work less, but have more. Step by step, town by town. If contributing to this cooperative community is voluntary, would you have any problem with it?
