Wow. We hear a lot about how the Twelver Imamiyyah Shi’ah practice mut’ah/sighe “marriage”, but it’s another thing to hear them discuss it so casually in person and in actual practice. My only other exposure was the BBC undercover investigation documentary about mut’ah marriage among the Twelver Imamiyyah Shi’ah in Iraq. What a scandal!

Does the hadith abregate Quran? mutah is permissible in the Quran, you need a Quran to abrogate Mutah. unfortunately, you don't have that.
Fath Allah al Kashani writes:

Whoever performs Mut’ah once will be saved from the anger of Allah. Whoever performs it twice will be resurrected with the pious and whoever performs it thrice will be with me in Jannat.[1]
This narration guarantees the perpetrator of Mut’ah safety from the anger of Allah, company of the pious in the hereafter and residing with Rasul of Allah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam in Jannat.

Mutah should be makruh but only if the woman is a divorcee or widow. It should be Haram if the woman is virgin, where nikah should be the only option. About muta marriage all scholar not united so some took this on necessary to avoiding Haram means prohibited
Muta has been prohibited since the day of khaybar by Rasulallah ﷺ and nothint can make it permissible.

@@terabytes450 Bukhari mentions the hadith of Ali RA saying Muta was prohibited by Rasulallah ﷺ and so does Al-Ibtisaar / Vol. 3 / Page 142 which is your own book. Muta was allowed for a time and then forbidden forever on Khaybar.
At-Tabari and Ar-Razi aren't a higher authority than Rasulallah ﷺ.
