Grew up on a farm. Brings back great memories. We listened to the market reports at breakfast, dinner (at noon) , and at supper. All together, the whole family, all sitting at the dinner table. Miss that.

Enjoyed the longer chat Rich. GREAT information on what to do before the purchase or trade. A lot of people don't even think about anything but getting the animal on their homestead. I am with you on the fresh milk, there is nothing like it.

Hey Rich! Man, I could just listen and learn from you all day. Although it is some things we may have heard before (way back), it sure helps to hear it again, along with learning lots of new stuff. Nothing like hearing it from someone who has "been there, done that". Thanks so much for caring and helping people be successful by sharing your experiences and knowledge gained from them.

A lot of wonderful information. Thank you, so much Rich. These things are so important. I want to get a dairy cow and let her fill the freezer for us once a year as well as milk. Right now my milk is coming from the goats and while it's good, I miss raw cow milk. So, thanks so much for teaching us. Blessings for you. I pray all is well and that your cold is better quickly.

Thanks. Well said. Since I'm growing them for my own consumption I will go slow on feed. Might take a bit longer to get them to slaughter weight. But the difference in taste will be worth the wAit. Thanks again. Jon at Stoney Creek Homestead

Question rich on feed Ag. Adviser said to feed the 2 steers calves about a pound a Day each. The man I bought from said a 5 gal bucket in am and again in pm for the two calves total. You said just a little here and there. Any thoughts on the difference in opinion on thiis. You and Ag folks seem more reasonably. The seller seems way out there. Steers weigh 350-400 pounds. Thanks jon
