This was my favourite song in high school, it’s such a shame that Our Wounded Courtship disbanded in 2009. Now, the members are making a living writing commercial jingles (except for the drummer, who drove off a ravine while drunk in 2012.) They were legends. Whenever I hear this song play on 107.3 Really Real Rock FM, I feel a little bit of that miserable teenager come back to me. (I was very stupid.)

My older sister was 10 in ‘07 and she LOVED this band back then at the height of what she called her ‘emo phase’, especially when they opened for MCR. I was 15 when I went to the 07 warped tour. Mayday Parade had just finished their set and the "TO BE ANNOUNCED" band before MCR hit the stage. The lights went dark... and we heard the building of guitars and drums. All in DARKNESS.
From behind the curtain they came, led by front-man Darius "Legs" Johnson from Our Wounded Courtship SCREAMMMINGGG at the top of his lungs (impressively enough to be heard over the uproarious applause)
"I AM NOT A SUGAR GLIDERRRRR!!!!~""" leading directly into "A ONE TWO ONE TWO I DON'T CAREE!!!"" And the entire crowd exploded into life. An instant mosh pit. The lights flared up with actual flames (very cool of the technicians to do that) and it was honestly the best song of the night.

TW: DIVORCE I know this song is Corny, but it came out the year my parents divorced (2007) and the line "you abandoned me on the side of the highway. Which highway? The highway of life!" hit pretty close home. They had a bad divorce and, basically, my whole family agrees that they cared more about hurting each other than my life: they missed a lot of games, schools/sports events, family meetings to avoid each other. I really felt abandoned. Sorry the trauma dumping, this songs brings a lot of memories from the 00's and I really loved it back then because it helped me to cope.
