Personally it would ruin the guys who meticulously watch each game .. like there would be one person who would be 100 points behind and could catch up without any tact at all.
The triple captain kinda helps out the people who use it at the right time but unlimited budget would be as you said Insane

Thanks for the clear explanation of how this works. I'll be saving mine for the FA Cup 5th round stage, when cup games properly interfere with the schedule. It was always annoying to only be able to field half a team, but with this I can correct it for just the one week instead of blowing my wildcard.
hey man, I have got 2 transfers this week, and if i 1st transfer 2 players of my team, then confrim without using free hit, once this transfer is done & now before the start of coming GW18 if i use Free hit and do 5 changes, will i have my team with those 5 original players returning to team or the 7, in GW19

Hey, i used free hit and make a captain and vice-captain in order to get points only for one match but i couldn't change it , why? And i couldn't make substitution also or my bench player will also earn points in free hit method or what is the case? Please tell me.

When using free hit will i lose value on players that have increased in value since i bought them. ie selling Kane will give me £10.7m but to buy him back he will cost £11m does the free hit take this loss out of the equation

It could be play only once or what in the season?
A Free Hit can be taken once per season and allows for unlimited transfers in a single Gameweek. Managers can replace their entire squad for that Gameweek but their 15-man line-up is returned to how it was at the start of the Gameweek for the next deadline

I do have one quick question: If I activate my free hit chip at the beginning of the week when I had "1" transfer. I repeat, I activate the free hit before making any transfer and go on doing all the transfers that I wish to make before the deadline and on the next round I get my old squad back. now my question is since I used my free hit chip before making any transfers, on the following week will I have 1 or 2 transfers available ?
I tried looking everywhere for this answer but no one seems to know :(

Mz Thanks bud. I understand your question. Your 1 free transfer will not carry over to 2 next week, despite activating the free hit before using it. The same is with the wildcard. Your free transfers will always go back to 1, the week following the use of your chip.
UPDATE: If an FPL manager uses the FREE HIT chip before the Gameweek deadline, this will override the transfers you've already made. No penalties will be applied in that gameweek, even if you've already taken a -4, -8, -12 hit. The following Gameweek your team will reset to how it was before ANY of the transfers were made.
What if you have two free transfers that you want to make permanent so you transfer in Player A and Player B, then you use the free hit for subsequent transfers in the same gameweek, will the team return back to the team with players A and B or the team prior to that? I hope that's clear. Thanks.

Hey! I took accidentally -36 point hits... I was meaning to play the free hit but I hit the wrong button. Based on your update claim, no points will be negated and I get to restore my original team, is that right? This will cause me headaches, please respond.

Hey Marvin, not quite sure what you mean here. The Free Hit allows you to make unlimited transfers to your team for one gameweek only, all within the budget you have. All the transfers you make using the Free Hit with have reduction on your points. Hope this helps.

After using your Free Hit, only 1 free transfer will be given the following gameweek mate.
does using free hit get cancel any point deductions youve already accumulated before the next gameweek? like i took a -4 hit yesterday, if i play the free hit chip today would it cancel that -4?

Hi Manan, whether you use the 'Wildcard' or the 'Free Hit' your transfer budget will still always apply.
Can you make a normal transfer in the GW and then make activate your free hit or are you only allowed to free hit in that GW ?
If you make a transfer, and then activate the free hit after - the transfer you initially made won’t count. The following gameweek your team will back to how it was before any transfers were made.

Hey Tommy, unfortunately you can only use one chip per gameweek. So you can't use your Free Hit and Triple Captain at the same time. Hope this helps.

One question bro ..The question is i had done two transfer and its -4 then i did free hit .. then will my score get deducted by -4 or it wont ...
Hiya mate, if you used the free hit it will cancel your -4. It will also cancel the transfers you initially made. So your team next week will go back to how it was before the -4 transfers were made.
Trying to bring in Salah and Arnautovic for this weeks two free transfers, but then my bank is -1.2 in debt. I've heard you can take a 4 point hit for this but can't seem to find the option to complete the transfer and take the hit, any help?
John Conaty that's not how its work. -4 didnt do nothing to your money balance, you must not have negative balance for the transfer button to be appear.

I was taken by surprise when i discovered gameweek deadline was tonight 6.45pm. Is there no way i can use free hit for the games tommorrow. Does the free hit have to be activated before the deadline.
Unfortunately Ronan, as you've missed the deadline you won't be able to use the Free Hit. You'll have to stick with your current team. There's another gameweek starting on Tuesday, so be sure not to miss the deadline on that one!
i have one question...after i choose a player let say 4 players and i select free hit chips..is there a point deduction happen?
If you activate your free hit, all the previous point deductions you made during that week will be erased.

No mate - You will always have 1 free transfer after the free hit, regardless if you had 2 saved up.
So you don’t lose any team value? Also, if I have 1 free transfer stored and then I free hit, will I have 2 the next week?

So ive accidentally pressed confirm transfers, not free hit, can I fix this? And turn my transfers into a free hit? Because I'm now on -28, so again, my intention was to press free hit, but I accidentally pressed confirm trades.

Can I use my usual free transfer and then the Free Hit chip in the same week? I have a few injured players and want to shift as many as possible without wasting points, obviously.
So, let's say I get rid of Yoshida and use my normal freebie, will any further transfers using the free hit chip over-ride this and next week will Yoshida be back in my team or the player I replaced him with before using the chip?
That's a really good question David. I'm actually unsure on this. I'd like to say that Yoshida wouldn't come back because you already used the legitimate free transfer on him, but I can't be certain. I'll look into this!
Did you manage to look into this? Can you confirm that Yoshida would come back even if we use the free transfer to transfer him out before using Free Hit?
Hey Arshia, apologies for the late response. I can confirm that Yoshida would come back in the above example.
The Free Hit will override any transfer that you make that gameweek before activating it. So, if I make 3 transfers and take a -8 hit, all of this would be reset when activating the Free Hit, and your team would return to exactly how it was before ANY of your transfers were made.

Correct. But you do it when you are making the transfers. Before confirming your transfers it will ask you if you want to play the free hit or not.

No problem. Once activated you can continue making as many transfers as you like before the next gameweek deadline.
I'm a "newb" to the game. I used the free hit and I was very disappointed. My team switched back before the match day was even finished. I thought that surely this would last for one match week. I didn't even get one match day out of it. They should change the name from free hit chip to change your players for a few hours cheap.
How do I use it on phone
On the app, head to transfers and select the players you wish to change. Once you've decided, hit 'next step' and you'll see a 'Play Free Hit' box which you can tick.

Exactly. You can change your team as much as you like for one gameweek, then it resets to the original team you had before using the free hit.
I wish you mentioned I couldn't double it up with bench boost
Sorry for this Phillip. I know it's a little late for you now, but in FPL, you can't use ANY of the chips together in a single gameweek. I made this same mistake a few years back and learned the hard way!

Yulan Ari Hi Yulan. If you use the Free Hit chip in an official double gameweek (where teams have more than 1 fixture within an FPL gameweek), then yes. Some of the players you use will play twice. Making the free hit more effective. For example gameweek 22 where Spurs and West Ham have 2 games in one gameweek. Hope this helps.

TheIseethings you can only use one chip at a time. And freehit button should appear if you take a HIT bc no need for freehit if you dont take any. Or try to refresh F5.

I don't believe so bud. No free transfers will carry over after using the free hit. It'll be back to 1 free transfer the following week.

I believe using the free hit chip or wildcard is classed as making 1 transfer so when the next GW comes round you'll have 1 (new) transfer available

No you can’t Suman. You can only use one chip per gameweek and this includes the wildcard also. 👍

Are you using the mobile app or desktop website?
FPL TV mobile chap
1) Select the players you want to remove and hit 'Next Step'.
2) Select the players you want to bring in and hit 'Next Step'.
3) Before clicking 'Confirm', click the the little box that says 'Play Free Hit'.
Once the free hit chip is confirmed, there's no going back. Also, it can only be used once. (y)
I've used the Free Hit for GW 24 but I can see that for GW 25 my team has not changed to my original team.
What's the problem ?

Thank you bud. You actually used your Free Hit in GW23, but from what I can see, you only made a few changes to your team including bringing in Arnautovic and Kane. Perhaps you played it by mistake? Your team then changed back to how it was for GW24, which is why you have Lukaku instead of Kane again. Hope this makes sense!
