$130 Waist Fan? I'll Put it to the Test!

- Coolify Zone is a $130 waist fan that includes two internal fans and a phase change material. I liked the $180 neck fan by the same company, so I had high hopes for this model.

Go,go gadget fan! 😂
No one -fan- man should have all that power.
No one deserves PHONOMINAL COSMIC POWER.

Thank You for another great review .Being a fan of you and your CZcams channel for quite sometime I don't always leave a comment on how much I appreciate and entertained I am by your show. Don't ever stop doing what you do. Thanks Again
I love it when the dog looks at him like Dad what are you doing?😂
As someone who feels uncomfortable without a slight breeze or air flow, this would make being in a area like a cave more tolerable and less claustrophobic which would be nice since I'm a 6ft 4in 350lb guy. I can see someone making a replacement strap that you could rig 2 of these things together and have one in the back and one in the front.
😐
Maybe ease up on the video games and work on getting a little healthier
How often are you in caves? That’s a highly specific & unlikely situation for a $130 item
I think if you need two waist fans, let alone one, you should probably reevaluate your habits re diet and exercise vs buying expensive gadgets, lol.
@@JTguitarlessonsway to assume about someone else's life based on nothing
Also how do you know they are unhealthy. They might be big and perfectly healthy
You know the 2020 summer Olympic winner for mens weightlifting is 400 pounds. Would you say hes unhealthy?
Fantastic and thank you.
As a Vegas resident I'm always looking for creative ideas to keep cool. This gives me ideas possibly for the future ( the neck fan). As usual the budget is the ultimate decision maker.
I'm waiting for the groin fan.
As someone who has done manual labor for decades i would think under the shirt would be the best way to cool yourself to avoid heat stroke. It's been very humid and in the upper 90's hear in Columbia County NY lately.
Knowing the components used to construct this, I can confidently say there's no justification for a $130 (or $180 for the neck fan) price. Fans are pretty loud on high. I also imagine that wearing it under the shirt will restrict airflow and put more stress on the fans. Thanks for the review as always
The coolify 2 is not just a fan it also has actual AC plates that cool the neck as well. I have one and it's amazing!
5:09 Turned into a Tom Scott video for a second there lol
love it!
Reviews are always awesome thank you again James.
I have the neck fan and I love it. I don't have AC in my house and on summer days it really works wonders to take the edge off. I'm intrigued how this can stack to help even more,.
I have used a $7-8 necklace fan for years. They work wonders & really cool me down. And at that price, you feel much better in your wallet or pocketbook! 😊 I have several. I've given away a few & keep a spare in my purse in case the batteries go dead.
Nice to have you give real world tries in some cool stuff.
While I definitely read waist fan, my brain somehow translated it to waste fan 😳
Freudian brain slip - you were thinking how it's a waste of money
Man that shot of you outside walking towards the camera while explaining was great. After you said how you wear it up higher.
I am happy with my under $20 rechargeable small clip on fan where I can clip it onto my belt and it works just fine. It also comes with a strap for me to wear it around my neck too ☺️
I'm happy with mine too. If my face gets hot, I can lift it up and blow air on my face for a bit. And the price was great!
Where did you get it from
just what I wanted a breezeway up my shirt
New Orleans heat and humidity *laughs* at that waist (or should i say "waste of money) fan. 😂 🔥
Yes,yes Louisiana is rolling over in her watery state 😂 and yes a waste of money 💰
Vegas doesn’t have the humidity like here in the South (I’m in NC) so wondering if it would be effective with very Hugh humidity!! I don’t think I’d be a happy camper with something hanging around my waist (or on my neck like, the neck fan) and way too expensive!!!!!!
I think this would be great for VR. Since some people get motion sickness and a fan blowing on them helps. Myself included. Slowly getting my VR legs though.
Hi James,
Thank you once again for such a brilliant review. I have the Koolify 2 neck fan as you do and love it apart from the horrible battery life. This new device is interesting to me but I would never buy it at that price. Perhaps £50 and I would give it a try. That is even if it comes to the UK.
I can guarantee you that women of a certain age (yes I am talking about myself) would really like that. The neck fan has really helped and honestly something that you can wear under your girls would help even more. So darn you I'm going to have to buy something else that you reviewed

Can you do a review on the Coolify 3?
If you wear it up high, like at the end, and anyone gives you a funny look about what's going on in your shirt? Just tell them it's an ARC reactor you made in the desert, with a box of scraps.
Poor Bailey was hoping to play catch and instead got to smell a fan 😂
In this day and age, walking around with this under your shirt will inevitably have someone report to the police that you are a mad bomber.
I was gonna get this but felt weird about wearing it but I got the neck fan and the new coolify 3 neck fan
Looks like a sci-fi fanny pack.
everyone else around me loves it. the fan air hits my stomach and the air hits everyone around me. lol
Please review the COOLIFY 3, it just launched and looks to be the ultimate neck fan :D
The Coolify 3 definitely looks nice, but not sure about the $300 price tag😬
$150 is a steep price, but $300 seems insane!
@@myrealnameisjohndoe116 Ya price is redonk, I think it's due to the technology used with the cooling plates and it being expensive to implement. If this can stop me from being a uncomfortable, sweat factory it's well worth it imo.
I have a decent neck fan but that waist fan looks good. Expensive but I’ll get it someday. Hope it helps with my heat intolerance issue during the summer
Honestly want one of these but bed size
4:41 James showing off his thermal hickey lol
Really enjoyed the Bailey cameo 😂
I was worried that James would stumble backwards over that rock and fall on Bailey, lose the rock!
You must test the cooling belt Sparkle Tornado. Semes awesome.
Dang James, you're batting zero lately. I know that ppl love their neck fan, but this one I just
can't see making a big hit. Especially at this price. Have a wonderful, fun, and safe holiday. 🤗

Oh I prefer to walk around with my home AC on a little wagon dude.
Sometimes I would have my Home AC sticking out my car window too.
It's bulky but it works. 😌👍💯
LEGEND HAS IT THAT HE HAS NOT TIED OR UNTIED THOSE SHOE LACES IN 50 YEARS….😅😅
I would have though cooling the small of the back would have been a better option... Looking forward to you reviewing the TORRAS COOLIFY 3...is it really worth $300...I'm in the UK and want to pull the trigger on this...maybe...
I need a T-shirt that says "James took his shirt off and all I got was this lousy infra-red footage."
hehe something like this would be nice here in New Mexico during the summers for sure

Wake me when they finally come out with a Mr. Freeze cooling suit. By the way, they have welding masks that actually cool your face. I rather wear that even if it would look strange, at least it would actually be useful.
it's already been done for a very long time in motorsports like Nascar, they wear a shirt under their firesuit that has water tubes snaking all around it that goto a small cooler full of ice cold water with a low voltage pump, and then their helmets have a hookup for a forced air duct that brings in filtered fresh air from outside the car, and all of it has quick disconnects incase of an accident. Richard Petty was the one who helped invent some of the first ones, and to test them out in actual races.
@@CommodoreFan64 Can you buy them anywhere?
@@saurelius5217 Dang YT deleting my comment!! Yeah just do a simple Google search they will come up under "FAST Cooling - Cool Suit System", but they cost about as much as a used Macbook for an entire shirt, tube, pump, and cooler setup. One of my brothers use to race Legends midget cars in the 00's, and has one, but no forced air helmet.
@@bostonrailfan2427 yes, but they first showed up in motorsports which is how I learned about them, so that's why I made my comments as I did. ✌️
What is the phase change stuff? Is it something designed to absorb heat and thereby cool wherever it is touching?
Thank you for your videos.
Imagine some BO smelly person just blasting it around while standing in a line.
If it wasn't so expensive, it might be a nice fan for camping.
77 degrees! Lol thats a heater
Not when it's 105 outside
Great video!
A bundle is sold with the coolify neck fan, bringing the cost down to $100 for the waist fan. On its own the price was dropped to $115
I like the idea of circulating air under your shirt to capitalize on cooling sweaty skin but it needs better execution. Maybe if it was more like a neck fan that reaches into your shirt it would work better and look less questionable.
I have the Zone and all versions of their COOLIFY neck fans/heaters. I find that the Zone just sucks up my shirt if underneath so I wear it over my shirt on my chest. As a first gen, I expect better versions in the future.
What’s that high pitched noise? Oh that’s just James with his body fans.
Just imagine having all that on in a quiet area like a library with that loud ass fan 😅
Hey James I have a small suggestion for you! Could you please make your videos compatible to full screen viewing?
Watching in the regular aspect ratio has black bars on the left and right, zoom to fill looks beautiful... Your camera angle is fine 95% of the times, just the text that you use for the features n stuff like at 0:53 get cut out...
Could you maybe shoot a little wider or fit the text within the full screen ratio? That would be great!! :)
I have perfect full screen videos on my iPads so maybe it’s the device you are viewing on.
@@sandybruce9092 yes yes ipads are the normal 16:9 ratio ig... The squarish view...
Most phones these days are a little longer
on a similar note, you should review viatek full body dryer
That thing sounds really loud. I love cooling down with body fans and all but I also don't want to be stared at by people when they hear a dust buster cleaner coming from under my shirt.
Where's the other half? I live in China and became friends with an employee by purchasing 4 neck fans. My body fan has two, a front and a back, all for $50.00 USD. ;-)
Next someone will develop a cooling fan for a breeze between the knees.
Af damn! Now you've given them a new idea for a crap product to sell
take my money
That might work because I work in a kitchen but I wear a hip bag for work.
I assume it uses Peltier units which have a hot side and a cold side. They are inefficient as a rule and produce a lot more heat than they do cooling. So where does the heat go??
Dang, that’s disappointing! I love my Coolify 2. I hope they come out with a version 2 of this body fan, too!
Thank you for another well done, thorough review. :D Seems a bit expensive for what it is. I don't know why but watching the video I kept wondering, how well does the "neck fan" work of you have a "neck beard". Not that I have one or anything...I'm asking for a friend. LOL 😆🤣😂
Has anybody seen that ad that's floating around for the other version of this belt that has 2 pieces instead of 1. Also they pieces have 4 fans each instead of 2 as seen here. It's supposedly made by torras as well but I can't find that product being sold on torras website. Is it a bogus scam item?
Do you or anyone else thing either the waist model or the neck model would help keep bugs off the face? In Georgia the bugs are as annoying as the heat flying up your nose and in your ears. I want a fan to both cool and blow away the bugs.
For that price you can by one of those vests with the ice packs.
Great video. I was actually just looking at this for a xmas gift. Thank you for the review. I think I will pass.😊
Can’t see myself using this. Another hard no. Thanks for the video.
You should try it with a loose fitting shirt.
I've come to the conclusion that I'd rather sweat than look like a dork 🤷♀️
A record watched within 15 seconds of uploading 😊
Can you review the 'Sony Wearable Cooler REON POCKET 2' it seems popular in Japan right now.
Seems like if they took a laptop approach of having supper efficient cooling in a tight space, this could (one day) a great effective product.
I was hoping for better results. Seems like an interesting gadget, but the cons of the phase change material not having staying power and the awkward bulge under your shirt, doesn't seem like it is worth it. I bet it would work better with looser fitting clothes though.
Looser fitting clothes is a good point. He should've tried it with a shirt that's not meant to be tucked in, like a Hawaiian shirt.
You shouldn't have to change up your wardrobe for a fan, especially at $130.
Plus you would just look like a flag with legs waking around. If you were to wear an oversized shirt.
@@HeyThatWeirdGuy I do feel it's way overpriced, but he confirmed that it does work. But if he wanted better results, he should have tried wearing a looser shirt.
@@HeyThatWeirdGuy "...a flag with legs waking around." 😂 Very funny! I mean, he could try going up just one size, lol. I don't think that would be too bad actually. He'd probably still look good since he wears his clothes snug anyway. I like the idea by @TheoTheLeo regarding the Hawaiian shirt. A loose button down might work well with that device. Nevertheless, I don't think much will disguise that unsightly bulge. Maybe if he put it at his waist and put a fanny pack OVER it, but that would probably compromise its effectiveness. 🤷🏻♂
You have to test out the new coolify 3 that just came out…I will buy it regardless but would like to see your review on it
Is it good
@@xzxedge Didn’t buy the coolify 3 yet but will during the hot months. Will get back to you on that.
I'd think it'd work better under a loose fitting button up shirt. Safari shirt or fishing shirt.

Are you from new York? Brockport area?
Have you tried the Coolify 3 yet?
Who cares if you look strange as long as you can get some cooling in a hot scenario

I prefer loud fans. They help me sleep better.
I'll need to know Bailey's opinion before I'll be ready to buy.

I agree it does look weird under the shirt. I would think you have a medical device under there

If I was a desert dweller like you, I would get this, but I live in the very humid South, and it would do me no good with the high humidity.....the same way you folks can use water coolers instead of real air conditioning. Water coolers do not work well in high humidity!
I wear mine on my waist and put the straps through my waist band tabs on pants. It’s nice
Damn, Im too chonk.
I have a necklace fan that blows air up into my face and I only paid 5 bucks for it.

Rude comment I just went after! Most all here are helpful funny and nice so please ignore negative nellies! He has numerous videos on all the ‘cooling’ items but gotta state cheaper ones don’t work worth a hoot-bought one-waste of money. You can buy cooling towels that are more effective seriously! @@lindabuck2777 the Fish just stated that the item Shannon named had been reviewed and suggested looking it up. It was direct, but not rude, in my opinion. On the other hand, I think your comments are a bit rude.
I suggest that a short comment on how to reword it is a better way to respond to a rude comment.
Great product to improve on over time...who AMONG us hasn't been guilty of standing over an A/C vent letting it blow under our shirts or lifted our shirt over a fan to get the air? I do have ONE issue....maintains 77, stops you from sweating? I sweat at 75🤣
I bet if they combined it to make it a fanny pack that has that fan built into it then Joe Rogan would sponsor it. That man likes a fanny pack
But does it work with a Dunlap?
if you want to show the airflow you could use a smoke machine or a vape pen.
