One of my favorite parts of Chaos Theory is that when you’re on the right track and making progress through the level, the music will play but if you backtrack or forget to do something the music stops. So much attention to detail. This has quickly become the greatest stealth game I’ve ever played, easily beating out all the Metal Gear Solid games and Blacklist. What a masterpiece. Chaos Theory - 10/10. Definitely recommend.
>when you’re on the right track and making progress through the level, the music will play but if you backtrack or forget to do something the music stops. wait, what?? I had no idea

why can't we agree that both splinter cell and metal gear were great franchises? tbh they were like 2 sides of a coin in terms of stealth games, both MGS3 and chaos theory has a special place in my heart
Splinter Cell Logic: **uses EMP to disable light in the engine room** **soldiers & technicians all react** **one of them lights a flare to see in the dark** **room doesn't explode**
To my mind Amon Tobin created one of the best soundtracks ever with this game. The tracks were used in a lot of TV shows, on Top Gear quite prominently around 2007/2008.
I loved this game’s self-referential sense of humor. It poked fun at itself and gave the game a fun, cool vibe throughout. It felt like a cool heist thriller
Amon Tobin is a friggin genius. This is one of the best tracks ever laid down for a game, ever. The way they used it in the game with alert level was masterwork. I love playing chaos theory for the cargo ship level alone.
I still play Splinter Cell 1-4 sometimes. PC version and I use PCSX2 to emulate a PS2 (Original PS2 is in living room and I don´t have a TV) and I have several profiles. I already played every Splinter Cell game (PC AND PS2 Versions) at least 15 times in my whole life and it won´t stop.
I fucking loved this song as a kid, especially when you get caught and it would start playing louder. I would intentionally alert someone so it could play
Splinter Cell Chaos Theory was just as good as the first two. Definitely the best Splinter Cell game ever made. Stealth at its finest. The game is a masterpiece
They'll fill it with dumb achievements and "challenges" that you can complete. And of course skin DLC's. Because of course they would. To wish for anything to be modernized is a fool's errand. All it does is make it worse form its original state.
XB1X and Series X play it in 4K and it looks great. The PC version on Steam can do that too plus 100fps. Either way it looks fantastic. Really recommend it.
These soundtracks blow my mind like if u think about it each individual one gives u a different feel and mood I can't really imagine this soundtrack in the bathhouse mission or penthouse that's what's amazing to me. Plus this beat just makes u feel like ur on a cargo ship it's pretty fucking dope
This series has one of the best soundtracks in this game (it's how I discovered who turned out to be my favourite musician), and some legendary dialogue. "I could open it" (referring to some tube containing some nuclear component or something) "And you could play Russian Roulette with a clip-loaded pistol." or "Anything else I need to know?" (interrogating a guard) "They have guns." "I' shocked and amazed." or (someone pleading for his life) "How touching, can you hold my gun while I wipe my tears?" Oh how I want this series remastered on Switch...
This games music has a real way of putting you on edge... Like sometimes the music would just start playing and I would freak out because yeah it could just be for ambience but what if someone saw me or a guard found a body or a door I left open half way across the map??? o_o On most of the maps buts specifically this one it felt like it just liked to play the music willy nilly just to spook you
The soundtrack gives me so much nostalgia, I remember coming back from the highschool and immediately turning on the computer to play this. I didn't even change my uniform, I just went straight to the PC
I would be so down for a splinter cell 1 - 3 remake with the same voice acting and music that was used in the originals except the only difference is that is uses the same engine used in Blacklist
+xXJOSH7417Xx the reason is that your wording implied that you considered jumping restricted by engine limitations. The reason you can't just jump in blacklist is that it wasn't considered useful enough to add in alongside the climbing and vaulting.
