To be honest, whether they are in a relationship or not we should respect and accept them. Its their own life anyways and we are just fans who engage in their shows and music. Also, something I am scared about though if they ever had a dating "scandal" or some sort is that delulus thinking they own the members will do such bad things like the cut for kookie thing before..and I bet that person whose BTS is dating might get a lot of HATE.

Maybe your a baby kpopfan. Because you dont know the REAL reason why dating is banned in kpop groups. I'm a kpop fan since Wonder Girls era. This happened to wonder girls one get inlove and married and the whole group fall down and they are just starting to be on top and worldwide when this happen. So kpop agency now avoided that to happen again. The very first kpop group sensation fall down because of lovelife priorities. And because of dating the whole group can be affected. If one member left the group because for example get pregnant or married or choose they love life first than the whole group will fall. In real life you can't prioritize both career and love life!, you'll need to choose. And they know it, since they prioritize their career first because it's not an opportunity that not anyone can have, one wrong move can affect the whole members, company, the employees not only the one dating, so they are very careful. And dont compare korean to west entertainment because they are very different. You can blame the agency too, because they can set up rules because they invest big amount of money to this idols, it's their right to have rules. And these idols accepted it. And what the different to BTS is that they have discipline the reason why they successful kpop group.

As a fan, living in denial & trying to do damage control is worse, where you could just be silent, respect, not engage and move on is the best and most mature way to show love and support to the artists you stan. Let's remember that we become an artist's fan for precisely that, the artistry, the rest is a plus. And we remain as fans.

Eh, my friends and I don't like these songs and some of us have been armys since their early days. We just like more hip hop and not poppy, that's all. We're still HUGE fans. We just don't go out of our way to listen to their English pop songs. In my dance studio, I danced to Dynamite and Permission to Dance because I'm not some obnoxious hater who'd pull a Karen by skipping my dance classes because of a few pop songs. BTS are very well protected from any major dating scandal by their company and all that surround them. They do and have dated, it's naïve and unrealistic to think otherwise but you will never hear about any of that unless and when they reveal it themselves. As someone who's been here a long ass time, this is a two-way street between the company and the fans.
Fans: Being a fan is exciting. There's a shared consciousness. You get to know your idol and you feel like they're your friends, or more. This can feel like a two way relationship; you start to feel that you are owed certain behaviours or things from idols because you're such a loyal fan and you've given over so much money and time to support them.
Companies: well, you want to turn a profit, right. So you give as much of the idol away as you can. Reems of backstage footage, fansign events, fanservice at every corner. Anything to make them as likeable as possible. You have to optimize your product so you tell the idols to act a certain way, look a certain way, anything that'll squeeze the fans for cash.
The thing is, in between the fans and the company are the idols. Who have thoughts and feelings and deserve to be treated as people, not products.
I'm not saying no companies or fans respect idols as people, but some companies and fans feed off each other in a negative way that makes it impossible for idols to date without backlash. Because they are seen as both too close and too distant to be treated like actual people.

I totally agree with you .In fact, fans stopped loving the music produced by the artists and start concentrating on their looks..moreover, it looks like big hit entertainment has squeezed all the talent from one group..so they now want to make business from other groups .They exposed their idols to fans so much that people actually started thinking that they are really with them..online stremings and platforms like instagram made it even worse. There are lots of fake accounts on Instagram on the members name and neither instagram as a co nor BTS as group have taken any action. Now the situation is that BTS has become their entity..they own the members and everyone wants to marry them.In this situation one member dating rumors are so dangerous for the person they want to date that these guys cannot handle.. And honestly speaking even those fans who have been with these groups for 10years, won't they feel betrayed??? Dating should never be a scandal. If they don't want to do date fine. If they do want to date in private or publicly fine. They are grown men, let them do what they please with their love lives. I'm 34 but even when I had childhood crushes on celebrities I never cared who they dated or married, it's none of my business. All I cared about was their health and happiness.

Honestly, I’m tired of them evading the dating questions by saying “we’re busy” or “we date army” because realistically, the members express their want for a relationship. Hobi has said before in a vlive that he wanted to be in a relationship & wanted to do cutesy stuff with someone. And other members mention things like wanting to be fathers when they’re older or even the lyrics to some songs that are extremely intimate seem like they’re written FOR someone & not their fans. BTS love army of course, but they aint in love with us. I’m sure they’re dating or probably even married. At the end of the day, its not our business.

Awww I remember watching Hobi's birthday live and he told his viewers that one of his goals for that year was to find someone special to him, and said something like "wouldn't that be truly amazing?". That made me emotional. I hope he found/finds his ultimate soulmate. I'd be so happy. There's also this interview where RM said he wants to be a dad. I was like awwww he'd be a wonderful dad. One of my only wishes for BTS is for them to be content with where they are with with their situation and who they are with.

But it's also understandable if they want to keep it private. The members of BTS might not mind sharing about their love lives but their partners might care being thrusted into the spotlight and might want to keep the relationship more private. Especially when first getting to know each other, who needs all the unwanted stress from public opinions. Personally I don't really care knowing too much about a person's dating history. I like when people just come out of nowhere and saying we're engaged what are you all going to do now. People can either support their relationship or act like babies and whine because it's not them, as if they had a chance in the first place.

I don't care if they are dating, I just want them to be happy. I don't think their love for army would be diminished if they fall in love with someone because it's a different kind of love. Some armys need to understand that they are not our boyfriends, and that doesn't mean that they don't love their fans, it's just a different kind of love that is non romantic, but it's love either way.

i don't think "MOST" of the fandom is toxic. BUT i feel like the LOUD part of the 'fandom' who are very active on social media like twitter are obviously the ones that 'do' a lot of damage. Most of ARMY truly love them and their music but the minority that are toxic and actually delusional are the ones that have way too much time on their hands and zero shame. it's very sad. but when the day comes that they do confirm rumours or publicize it, that we do our best to wipe out the hate and support them

while I do agree fans are wrong in this they're not the only ones to blame, as you stated the company intentionally promoted them as "available" "husband/boyfriend material" (as the case for most kpop idols) and when you think about it, which one holds the bigger responsibility, the teenage fans who don't know any better, or the marketing experts and companies who know exactly what they're doing, I know they're just doing their jobs, but all Im saying is that both parties hold responsibility, even the idols hold responsibility for cooperating with it

Coming back to your point, there are absolutely no boundaries whatsoever between a fan and an idol hence putting them on a pedestal. Also unpopular opinion but the "fanservice" as they call it is sooo problematic. It plays a significant role in making people delusional and obsessive. Majority of the people don't know where to stop crossing the line and this gives rise to such issues. The first thing that is needed in K-pop is clear boundaries between a fan and an idol. These idol girls and boys are fu***** human beings like all of us at the end of the day. That's a problem that unfortunately persists K society. I hope as they now get more exposure to outside world and more people visiting SK, they start becoming more welcoming and open. Even the whole Yoongi marry me became cringe AF after one point.

BTS has a large Fandom that can survive any dating news. There are many fans out there that just want the boys to be happy and don't see them as pets.
Also I hate that companies promote this culture that idols need to appear available to fans, this promotes obsessive fans. At the end of day, I just want them to be happy and find good partners, both V and Jungkook have shared that they want to start a family when they leave the idol life and we should respect that when the day comes.

I'll never understand why certain fans feel a sense of entitlement towards knowing every single thing about idols personal life, they're adults most of them. If they wanted to date they would, we have numerous instances of this and then suddenly we hear they're going to be a parent. It's also gross to assume a person's s*xuality (shippers), imagine how uncomfortable they could be because I mean it's not like they're closed off from the world. I've learned idols have burner accounts, or fake ones so they're aware.

The situation is undoubtedly a curious one when we take into account that other kmedia outlets also struggle to find dating info on BTS as much as Dispatch. If some or all members have girlfriends (which they deny) or date (which they don't exactly deny), they must be very lowkey, maybe by dating locals in lieu of fellow celebs or fans.
Also, I find the argument if "BTS never date" to "BTS all date" to be ridiculously extreme. Reality tends to be somewhere in the middle. BTS are seven very different men. Some of them may date a lot. Some of them may struggle to find people they
want to date. Some may have girlfriends. Some may date around. Some may be single. We don't know for sure. All we know is that they have said dating is difficult for them, and that is obviously true in more ways than one.
I just hope for their happiness. That they find or already have found the love story each of them uniquely desires. And that one day fake fans will finally drop out of ARMY and leave BTS free to show their loves to the world without fear.

This comment may not be well received, but I'm old, have nothing to lose & won't argue with anyone anyway. I think only a couple of the guys are completely straight & I believe that's a big part of why they haven't disclosed anything. One of the payoffs to being a big celebrity is that everyone will speculate & that's just part of it, but it's still none of our business unless they want it to be. Maybe that's part of why they needed some time away to work on themselves. I just hope they're all happy & have a loving partner to hold at the end of the day, & that ARMYs will support whoever that may be. They're grown men & deserve to be in happy adult relationships if they choose to be.
As another old 'un with nothing to lose, I agree with you and appreciate your comments which typically don't go over well with fans! From what I've heard from various sources (and of course, we have to take it with a grain of salt), only one or two members at most are entirely straight. I used to wonder why, in addition to not seeing pics of them on dates, how come I don't see pics of them even hanging out with friends or doing mundane things like driving and shopping. I was told that the K-media won't out non-hetero relationships AND that the members' personal lives are all highly protected in SK. Their major fansites, especially in SK, Hong Kong, and Japan, know who's dating who, but they also protect them. In addition, the members themselves are careful about where and when they're seen and with who.
It seems that now they're being more open during this "hiatus" or whatever it is we're calling it. I long for the day that these grown men can comfortably live their lives as openly as they choose!

i've come across a shit ton of toxic stuff related to bts. it all got me so hurt, overwhelmed and pissed at and by the toxic fans that i couldnt even bear keeping up with them. leaving the ARMY fanbase was the best decision ever. seeing my idols being happy in an ig post and then suddenly seeing numerous toxic fans commenting bad stuff...all of it messed up my mental health so much..im literally tearing up as im writing these...
i am now a carat. it's the fanbase of another famous boy group called seventeen. who're also under hybe now. it's honestly one of the most peaceful fandoms ever and i have no regrets...
i do still love and support bts but thanks to the insane amount of toxicity in the fandom that has scared the shit out of me to the point where i cant even stan them in peace.
