Restored by former Grand Prix technicians Martyn Ogborne - who was Barry Sheene’s mechanic during his championship-winning seasons - and Nigel Everett, the factory version of the RG500 that dominated Grand Prix racing carried Sheene to four victories during the 1976 season. - Auta a dopravní prostředky

This would have made a wonderful feature length documentary, such a shame it's been edited down to just 10 minutes.

Great job gents. Barry spent his later years hear in Australia on the Gold Coast and became a commentator in various motor sports. What a character he was on and off the track.
I remember watching him riding this and other bikes as of course do many others, - partly why I like motorbikes. It's a beautiful thing.

I hope you two are passing on your knowledge to younger trainees. Don't take this the wrong way but people have a limited lifetime. These machines are part of motoring history and will be around a long time after all of us are gone. Two strokes are a different ball game especially when it comes to performance of this level.

Remember touching that bike at Mallory park 1976, as a 10 year old boy full of excitement.
I saw Barry win the German Grand Prix in May 1977 at the Hockenheimring, don't know if it was that bike Berry was riding but it was incredible, I was 13 and blown away. One year later I got my first and by far not least Suzuki, a TS 50 ER. Both days I will never ever forget :)))
that was me and my brother too!...chasing around the padddocks, getting autographs and stickers, what a childhood! 😌👏🏻🇬🇧🏁
My father had a pic of this bike on the garage wall. I would like to have seen a bit more about how they sorted the magnesium corrosion and may be some video of it been ridden. The smell of a two stroke reminds me of helping my father when I was a kid. This was his era. He has left this world, I'm a bit sad now!

What a stellar project to be a part of. Outside of the unavoidable frustrations that come with wrenching, it's such a meditative process.
These boys are awesome! would have loved to have seen more of this build, starting that back up after all these years must have a special moment for them. It's a shame all this will be lost given the idiots in power atm😢

Barry restored his ex Stuart Graham 125 Suzuki when he lived in Queensland .
Very cute bike . It has an aluminium tube frame , made in the 1960's !
I'd have liked to have seen more on the repairs to the magnesium crankcases and the wheel inspection. Nice to hear it running again.

Really amazing that this (to me) "dramatically bad looking" magnesium-crankcase could be repaired by welding! Surely a very experienced welder is necessary, but surely all people who are involved in such a project are on your (utmost high) level.
Absolute respect to these two gentleman bringing this iconic bike back to life👍

I have built many two stroke race bikes 70's 80's 90's , that sound nearly gave me an orgasm !
