  • "If we just say and think and feel what we already know, it’s the same thing over and over. For something really new to emerge, we need to go to the edge of what is known, and be willing to be inarticulate for a while. Eugene Gendlin’s research and his philosophy pointed to this implicit dimension, and showed how to get there by allowing a felt sense to form.” Ann Weiser Cornell talks about the felt sense, the unclear edge, Gendlin’s philosophy, and the power of being able to say “something is here.”

A very useful skill. I think acceptance is important when trying to find the unclear edge. And prevents negative emotions from popping up. We have to accept ourselves, at each moment of the practice.

So true! And what I like is, there is a way to accept ourselves, by turning toward anything in us that isn't accepting, and simply acknowledging that.
