Benjamin Rocca - Karma (Official Video)

An original composition - Karma. The final track to the new album 'Being' released December 13th 2023.
After being taken to ecstatic dance sessions in North London and experiencing what it truly looks like to 'let go' unapologetically and authentically. To use to movement and dance to release emotion. After seeing such open minded individuals moving and being free, no judgment just release, I was inspired to make this video. I put on my suit and sunglasses and I walked into the forrest on a dark December morning arriving at my favourite spot in the Japanese garden in a little opening between the bamboo plants and then after breathing deep I put on my track 'Karma' in my ears. Here you see a combination of three improvised dance takes of me just being taken by the music and finding joy in moving to it. I let go of my worries and just attempted to find ways to use my body to express the sounds and flavour of the music that I was hearing. See it as my practise of letting go. See this as my visual expression on the piece. This was and is my intention. I used the effects to further exaggerate and express the movements. See it as a stand against trying to look perfect, about making yourself smaller to fit in. See this as a defiant 7 minute pledge to be wholeheartedly free and present in the expression. OR see it as me moving through past Karmas, creating new postive expression karmas and hopefully invited you, dear lister and viewer to find space today to be fearlessly authentic in pockets whatever that may look like.

I am grateful for the opportunities to have this amazing band play over my music and for the support I needed to get this project recorded and happening.
