Thank you! You saved me an expensive repair. It was difficult to track down the fuse, but once i found it the repair was simple by following your instructions!
Excellent, excellent video which saved me a lot of time and money getting my Janome Memory Craft 4900 repaired. I also received an Error 1 message every time I turned on my machine and getting it serviced in my small community is out of the question as it requires a three hour drive one way and a five-month wait. Your video enabled me to do the fuse replacement myself and I also serviced the machine myself as I have enrolled in an online course so that I can service my three different Janome machines myself. Thank you so much😊
Thank you so much for making this video! I'm notorious for blowing this fuse in the machine once or twice a year - and this walkthrough has saved us so much time and hassle as I need it for work. Very much appreciated, thanks again!
Very helpful . Thank you! Have a very similar machine but is a Kenmore and three times now has come up System Error 1. First time cost me $214.00 to repair (as said it had something to do with a motor, fuse apparently was fine ... last October). Fast forward only last week had it checked due same occurrence and another $80.00 later told it needed to be cleaned however (you guessed it) same problem today! (Was sewing beautifully yesterday doing light duty sewing with no jams etc. until I turned it on today .... arggggh!)
Thank you, this is my machine and problem, so I guess it’s going to the shop because I’m not doing that. Lol Glad I found this video to make it clear that it’s shop time.
This was a tremendous video. I’m 62 and was able to fix my mom’s Janome. 😊😊😊. Do you happen to work on Juki sewing machines? I need a video on how to take a Hzl-k85 apart.
I am so glad the video helped. I fix a lot of machines and electronics , Unfortunately I have not worked on the HzHk85 so I cannot reply help. Thank you for the comment.
There are 3 fuses, two together and a third over by the connectors, all three can be seen in the still shot overlay of the board. F1 is one of the two fuses together, do not worry about the third one on its own.
I accidentally plugged my USA 110 volt MC6600 into the European 220 volt. It instantly went dead. Do you think a fuse saved it or did it burn all the boards? I'm not sure where to start.
That fuse protection is for load, for example the needle jams and you don't remove your foot quick enough. However there are other fuses. Having said that it is most likely a MOV (metal oxide varistor) to protect against over voltage depending on the circuit design. If you are good with electronics have a look if not I would recommend taking it for service
@@Ron_A._Bolton Thank you for your fast reply. I am not good with electronics and my local Janome dealer here in Spain could not figure it out. He said the machine is a total loss but I disagree. Worst case, would you agree I would need to replace all the boards? The price for that is 25% the cost of the machine. I'll keep looking for an electronic expert locally. Thank you again!!!
Just watch your “Error 1” video. I have an “Error 4” and my needle is jammed down in needle plate. Could this be a fuse as well.? I don’t want to force anything. THe needle is still into my project I was working on so I can’t remove it. Amy suggestions or do I see a trip to the repairmen in my future?
An error 4, no supprise is for a jam, but requires the timing bet to be removed to determine if the drive train or motor are jammed, sorry to say that its a trip to the service centre for your machine.
Hi, thanks for your comment. I deal with the electronics side of the shop and in this case do not have the full mechanical servicing manual, or I would do a video on that. If I can get hold of one I will make a video on it, but for now I will have to respectfully decline. But feel free to keep an eye out just in case. Ron.
Can you show us how to put the top tension button back on In order It's supposed to be Mine fell off I just popped off I'm not headed I'm tied enough and it just popped off and for a while I lost the pc a new pc pop it out I didn't know it was back there so if you could show me how to put the button in order of the tension top tension.

I had to do this to my machine, wish your video had been available then!!!
I have the same machine, I grant you the needle threader takes a learning curve....but why on earth thread without it! But great video.
I didn't know it had one, but its fixed now, thanks for the tip.

Thank you very much, you helped me. Health to you and good luck!👍
Hi your video is helpful but I still cannot locate the main fuse found f1 and f2 but tried to find it.
Thank you
@@AnnetteMaskrey is it not on the board where I show in the video?
I found 2 fuses but are there 3? I see 2 on board which you pointed out, I thought there were 3.
Kind regards
Annette maskrey. Thank you
@@AnnetteMaskrey there might be 3, however unfortunately I cannot check as I don't have the machine any more.

Could you tell me the exact fuse…I didn’t catch what you said it was.
Fuse F1, 3.15A slow blow

Thanku Ron I tried and do this one now jammed up showing error code
The fuse is jam protection, so it's time to get the machine serviced. Good luck, hopefully it just needs oiling.
Can you show us how to oil machine properly. Thank you

Ron.
The only oiling you need to do is to add a drop to the bobbin case wick. I add it once a day when sewing.

I am sorry, but I do not understand your question. The full assembly is shown in the video, just follow that?
