The video failed to mention that the only hotspot on the list that comes with external antenna ports is the Netgear Nighthawk MR1100. This is necessary if you are a full time RVer like we are that often stays at remote mountain and desert locations with poor cell reception. I have their small indoor dual band antenna that practically doubles the internet connection speeds in areas with poor signals. I highly recommend it. There are even reconditioned ones available online for a good price if you are having trouble affording a brand new one.

@@imsopharill I don't need lots of speed, just enough to stream HI definition video (around 24Mbps) but we often need access in remote areas, so we chose Family Motorcoach Association's 25 Mbps unlimited data plan for $65/mo. You have to be a member of FMCA to get it.

    • @donjohnson1290
      @donjohnson1290 Před rokem +7

You get 100GB of hotspot w/ T-Mobile? Geez!
I have att & get 40GB for Xbox Gaming and it’s def enough BUT IVE BEEN WANTING A Portable Hotspot Device like the MR-1100 or M1 made by AT&T.
To ur question yes I can put that plan onto a Device Made by T Mobile or Other companies that allow for Orher Carrier Plans….The #2 Option u mentioned umm yea I would NOT buy that Alcatel Brand Device.
Idk I guess I could be wrong but this video doesn’t seem accurate & I’ve never seen or heard of the first 3 Products - I do know AT&Ts Nighthawk is one of the Best Options. Oh I’m just now seeing him talk about it.
(See the Model he’s talking about MR-1100 / M1 came out a year or two ago, there’s a Newer Model Out - I’d look into at&ts Newest Hotspot device and their Plans Cause they’re Usually Top Competing Company and A lot of times The other companies try to Outdo Them Cause they’ve got the Best Service and options Most the time.
They’re all on basically the same Spectrum - if u want to be in the Best Place for Satellite I’d look into E musks starlite ? It’s got crazy unheard of speeds

@franksaint84 Well, for example the amount of data used while playing Overwatch can vary, it's estimated to use about 40-50 megabytes (MB) of data per hour.
If we use the higher end of this estimate (50 MB/hour), you can calculate your potential playtime with 40 GB (40,000 MB) of internet data:
      40,000 MB ÷ 50 MB/hour ≈ 800 hours
So, with 40 GB of internet data, you can play Overwatch on your Xbox Series S for approximately 800 hours. Keep in mind that this is an estimate, and actual data usage may vary slightly based on your specific gameplay and any updates or patches that are released.

    Tip life-hack
= lousy signal and many excuses of expensive routers
= cheaper more specific area coverage of personal-hotspots
= test strategy for AP to AP wireless backbone
    = wired-to-AP, AP-to-wired
    Ceiling light-lamp rail to USB-adaptor to personal-hotspot(AP)
Area-path-route of human have ground-level AP
Optional, carry another AP for mesh backbone-network

Why dongle when the PCB is breakboard breadboard.?
Price for full-coverage per 3 bedder apartment = 1x expensive router without any dongle. $USD+300 at most.?

Does it work on cruise ships?

@@user-lw8cs6pl1o cruise-ships(coastal-skipping) and aircrafts(overland flights) need one-pair of transmitter and receiver for outside metal-shell-casing comms. Receiving 2.4ghz/5ghz plus GPS/glonass/beidou/...A-GPS priority/... is not an issue for mobile-devices but transmitting (b)ack is unless ack is sent with one paid antenna. Ack-packets for starters.

If you mean inside, wiring-inductor-antenna is fixed(switched mechanical for privacy) inside-outside walls. Switching should be person walking-connecting wireless-near-field to wireless-near-field inductors. Example, hotspot-AP in backside-pocket goes near inductor of outside room that is physically connected to inductor of inside room. Antenna is inductor. Near-field is activate inductor of contactless-payment cards(debit/credit/...). Inductor to inductor, independent wiring for signal coherance inside mickey-mouse torture concept (cruise ship) which is a plus-one to being stucked and entrapped in a high-end resort with one boring lifestyle choice - your other half.

Wireless need line-of-sight for high-bandwidth and high-network-utilisation. Corridor backbone. Pointed antenna can should be used for transmission. Wider-surface area antenna should be used for reception. 3D, 2-plates(inside-outside room-cabin) of 2-parts(halves) is point + area and area + point, similar to millimeter-wave antennae for building to building transmission, wave-guide aiming and bass-drum-shaped receiving. If corridor have AP-hotspots at ends and passenger walk along, signals to inside cabins need such pairs-of-plates unless every room also have their own AP-hotspot(more than 10m bluetooth) wired to wired-network(maintenance expensive).
