Here, one of our UK preeminent scientific organisations is leading vital work to record and ideally preserve the huge range of plants and fungi still remaining, in this uniquely biodiverse island, but doing so in the context of and recognising the needs of the local Malagasy people. This work reminds me of why I feel so incredibly fortunate to be able to visit Kew Gardens itself and see the work done there to spread the word about our miraculous global fauna. Thank you so much, Kew.
