Yea I just did one of these and the programming cycle didnt want to close either. Just keep pushing the start button rapidly and eventually it will close. Then register the prox part and done. At first I couldn't get the ignition to come on for the reset but I also wasnt putting the key in the slot. Stupid me!
Thanks for the video. My case is tricky. My 2008 Prius has keyless entry system and should use the proximity key but the key handed to me by the previous owner is the one for the non-proximity. So I went to the locksmith and perform every step in this video using an auto pro. Each step was successful except the last--we couldn't get the proximity key programed. Any idea why this would happen? Also, how on earth can a non-proximity key work in this car in the first place (I say it works meaning that it can be put in the key slot and start the car--the remote lock/unlock, emergency don't work at all)? Many thanks!

I’ve had problems with the Lexus / Toyota smart keys ecu reset… saying to switch ignition on… the older one wouldn’t ask that… any feed back would be greatly appreciated and btw it won’t let me turn ignition on when it says too
The dealership told me when all keys are lost, they have to reseed or remaster the new key fob chip with a new FCC number. If I get one of these machines, can I really do it myself without having to do through the dealership?
