You don't know the half of it : produce and meat go into those "compaction" units , just so you can't dive them , and also so you can't see the quantity of waste !! Those compaction boxes usually get swapped out twice a week, or once a week ! Holidaze usually are busy ! Happy diving !
Totally agree on hungry people. Hunger is at epidemic proportions in the US. Number 1 issue of need. So many programs need food stuff. Corporations should feel a moral obligation.

Yeah!!! If you have to climb in and you’re in a cold area all bundled up that gets tricky!! Especially if you have a bad back!! I wait for good days to go and by the end I need days to recover!! People love to go on and on about things they don’t even know about. One guy up here in my area is a salvage guy and does this for a business. Sounds like work to me. I’m with you. I wish people would be decent too.
Store managers and owners HAVE TO DO BETTER! But I'm grateful for families such as yours that are willing to rescue food for those in need. You encourage me with ways that I can donate items. And Honestly, donating gives me a high! Thank you for your work to help mankind. ❤❤❤
There has to be a reason why the store threw all of that food in the dumpster it was either spoiled or outdated and to the store couldn't give it to the consumers because they will get in trouble if someone gets sick and the store can get sued I know this because my aunt works for the board of health because I'm sure these people aren't telling the consumers they are giving them outdated or tainted their food that came from a dumpster and I understand they want to do something nice to help the community out but if they're going to do something nice they need to do it in a safe way with a harming anyone because they don't know if the food is going to hurt anyone

If someone gets sick or hurt because of that donation then that person sues that store where the food donation came from. That's why a lot of supermarkets poor bleach on the food when they throw it in the dumpster. That way people can't take it and get sick.

It happened in my city except one of the employees posted it on a free stuff giving Facebook group. And they emptied it! Can't believe how many just don't care. Food banks would have came and got this.

Yes this is america , my mom work to a food fast restaurant and she said that they prefer to through the food away than give it to the employees is sad to see all the food when you can bless a lot of families with that, I'm glad you guys found it, bless you all
Not even the employees? Here do store/food service employees buy FIRST at a discount because that's just how at is. They work hard enough as it is already.
This is not just America. This is the UK, Australia and most western countries if they don't sell inventory. For the most part this is just bad business practices. If you're not selling a product.. stop putting orders in for it to be sold on your shelves if you know they don't sell. I've worked retail and they go brainless on ordering inventory a lot of times. I think it's great they are putting it to good use.
You guys have saved so much food and other items most of which you have donated whether it was to family, friends or just ppl in your community, all of which am sure are extremely grateful to your help. Ignore what the haters say it just means you doing something good.
If a grocery dumped the frozen food, they could have given away a free grocery bag filled with frozen items to every customer who would have been so grateful.
Most stores have regulations and laws that prohibited them from handing out food to the public... and their Insurance Policies won't allow it due to the possibility of a law suit for food poisoning, etc
It frustrates me so much on the waste of our country. People are going hungry, with no source of food, while stores just toss out food in the trash. It's infuriating .

Michele Aloha. I work for a national store. We had to throw away totes of food; because something leaked all over the tote Would you buy food that has had bleach or something else spilled on it. Do not blame the stores. Blame the federal government. When things are recalled they get thrown away. Expired food CANNOT BE SOLD NOR DONATED. FOOD BANKS THROW AWAY A LOT OF FOOD.

As a dumpster diver myself I can tell you firsthand that we are the most wasteful country on the planet. I shake my head when I see a dumpster loaded with food that's perfectly fine to eat. I once saw a dumpster full of a boatload of cartons of eggs. If 1 egg in a carton is cracked or broken, it goes in the trash. That's 11 eggs wasted per carton that could have fed someone in need. 😟

Wow, just saw this video and can’t understand how grocery companies just write off their losses and dump all this food. This was at the hike of the pandemic and not a lot of people were going to the store due to the pandemic restrictions. They could have donated to the food banks but they don’t care just throw it away. That’s a great blessing for all your family. Thank you Jesus for your provisions ❤

I’m not sure about the USA but in Canada, they don’t donate because the potential of being sued. I think it is ridiculous ! Thank you for your generous work. I’m sure people in need are very appreciative

That food haul is FANTASTIC!!! I’m so glad that you were able to save so much!! It could be that the store had a freezer go down. The dollar store near me had a whole row go down and they are on automatic delivery. Nearly every week we find CASES of unopened food!!! 😡 my sister finally complained to corporate because of the waste. I haven’t seen so much thrown out since then. I think I’ve had enough of pizza for awhile. 😑 you might want to check back a few times a week to see if they are on automatic delivery and see if there’s a pantry with a freezer. The food won’t be expired so they shouldn’t have a problem with it. Also fuck the haters. If their lives are so grand they can shut up and go live them. 😡
It's insane! This particular stores freezer did not go down. I'm assuming they were just offing the "lesser value" items to get more stuff in! Pretty sad how they just throw it out when there is absolutely nothing wrong with it!

Curbside Junkie. If the expiration date is close they have throw it away. Milk can be sold up 3 days of expiration. Milk cannot be donated either. Most stores cannot sell dented goods
@@anncowan1130 Milk can be donated. The Good Samaritan Act protects businesses from liability, because it's assumed all food is donated in good faith. There is no excuse whatsoever for stores to throw out edible food.

Samaritan Act says you can give milk that is going to expire in three days? You cannot donate food that is close to the expiration date or expired. I have friends that volunteer at our look food pantry warehouse. They have throw so much milk away because it is either near expiration or expired. You said she is disabled, but she seems to climb in and out of the dumpster and picked up heavy stuff with no problems. That is just a poor excuse. I watched people with no arm and no leg and still work to make living . Those people are the real heroes.

Thanks again for the heads up the other day. You guys saved so much food! We got what we could fit in our freezer from what was still at least partially frozen. So much food in there still though. It's such a shame it wasn't donated by the store.
They can’t. To donate would open themselves up to be sued. Unfortunately. It’s surprising at least in my area they do donate bread, baked goods. One food pantry &/or restaurant got into trouble over cooked food donations. I don’t know details only that is why they don’t donate anymore.

Yes, those microwave plates r expensive to replace. U just attach a piece of paper saying which micro brand it was and attach the roller wheel on the bottom. Donate to thrift stores. The buyers will be so grateful to get them cheaper. Hard to find items, but yeah, ebayers pay a good sum for them. $35 each sometimes.
The reason of the food shortages in America is because the food stores throw away a lot of food before the expire date on the package. The stores then take it off their taxes

There needs to be accountability for throwing food away, there should be fines for the stores who do. there are plenty of places to give that food to. I'm happy for you guys for scoring. Yes indeed, some cities have trucks that pick up food like this from restaurants and stores. They give it to local food pantries and shelters. They could just put it in a separate bin away from the garbage so those who want it can just get it.
Tonight was the first time I’ve watched this dive. I’ll tell you I’ve never seen so much food in one dumpster before! It’s my opinion stores need to either donate to agencies who distribute food to people in need or somehow alert people who do what you guys do so it can be saved. I understand why they physically don’t hand it to agencies or people because if someone gets sick that person might (it’s been done) try suing the store the food came from. I’m glad you guys are able to go dumpster diving and help others.

I’m 2 days behind watching!!! I’ve been sick with COVID!! That was an absolute amazing haul. If y’all had not went to the other town first, you could have very well missed out on all that food. As for the hater’s, let ‘em hate! I completely understand about the whole eye thing. My husband has Ocular Histoplasmosis, it took the entire central vision of his left eye about 25 years ago, then about 7 years ago it started up in his right eye, luckily there is now medication that can be injected into the eye to help save his vision, my husband drove an ambulance and was a first responder, until a second heart attack put him out on disability. The two of you are doing what you need to be doing to make ends meet and still raise your kids to be responsible, respectful young men. Like I said before, let the hater’s, hate, they have nothing better to do! BTW - I absolutely adore your dogs! My favorite breed of dog is a Shepherd!!!!

I’ve gone dumpster diving at Home Depot’s and Lowe’s hardware store and found some incredible stuff. Like glass shower doors that cost 1000$ interior doors that cost 500$ storm windows that cost 300$ so much more. My house is practically brand new from stuff these corporations throw out

These stores should donate the food to pantries to feed the poor. Also they should donate the cat food and dog food to animal shelters.

Most stores have regulations and laws that prohibited them from handing out food to the public... and their Insurance Policies won't allow it due to the possibility of a law suit for food poisoning, etc

Michele Aloha. I work for a national store. We had to throw away totes of food; because something leaked all over the tote Would you buy food that has had bleach or something else spilled on it. Do not blame the stores. Blame the federal government. When things are recalled they get thrown away. Expired food CANNOT BE SOLD NOR DONATED. FOOD BANKS THROW AWAY A LOT OF FOOD.

As a dumpster diver myself I can tell you firsthand that we are the most wasteful country on the planet. I shake my head when I see a dumpster loaded with food that's perfectly fine to eat. I once saw a dumpster full of a boatload of cartons of eggs. If 1 egg in a carton is cracked or broken, it goes in the trash. That's 11 eggs wasted per carton that could have fed someone in need. 😟

Wow, just saw this video and can’t understand how grocery companies just write off their losses and dump all this food. This was at the hike of the pandemic and not a lot of people were going to the store due to the pandemic restrictions. They could have donated to the food banks but they don’t care just throw it away. That’s a great blessing for all your family. Thank you Jesus for your provisions ❤

I’m not sure about the USA but in Canada, they don’t donate because the potential of being sued. I think it is ridiculous ! Thank you for your generous work. I’m sure people in need are very appreciative
Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Food Donation Act, stores and restaurants CANOT be sued for donating. It is up to the person to check if it is still good, not hard to do.

That food haul is FANTASTIC!!! I’m so glad that you were able to save so much!! It could be that the store had a freezer go down. The dollar store near me had a whole row go down and they are on automatic delivery. Nearly every week we find CASES of unopened food!!! 😡 my sister finally complained to corporate because of the waste. I haven’t seen so much thrown out since then. I think I’ve had enough of pizza for awhile. 😑 you might want to check back a few times a week to see if they are on automatic delivery and see if there’s a pantry with a freezer. The food won’t be expired so they shouldn’t have a problem with it.

It's insane! This particular stores freezer did not go down. I'm assuming they were just offing the "lesser value" items to get more stuff in! Pretty sad how they just throw it out when there is absolutely nothing wrong with it!
It is SO DAMN WASTEFUL!!! It makes me so mad!!! There are so many out there who are struggling and who will absolutely NOT affect their bottom line one bit if they just gave it to them instead of tossing it. Curbside Junkie. If the expiration date is close they have throw it away. Milk can be sold up 3 days of expiration. Milk cannot be donated either. Most stores cannot sell dented goods
@@anncowan1130 Milk can be donated. The Good Samaritan Act protects businesses from liability, because it's assumed all food is donated in good faith. There is no excuse whatsoever for stores to throw out edible food.

Samaritan Act says you can give milk that is going to expire in three days? You cannot donate food that is close to the expiration date or expired. I have friends that volunteer at our look food pantry warehouse. They have throw so much milk away because it is either near expiration or expired. But I will tell our compliance supervisor what you said. If you read what I wrote near expiration or expired. S

You said she is disabled, but she seems to climb in and out of the dumpster and picked up heavy stuff with no problems. That is just a poor excuse. I watched people with no arm and no leg and still work to make living . Those people are the real heroes.

They can’t. To donate would open themselves up to be sued. Unfortunately. It’s surprising at least in my area they do donate bread, baked goods. One food pantry &/or restaurant got into trouble over cooked food donations. I don’t know details only that is why they don’t donate anymore.

Yes, those microwave plates r expensive to replace. U just attach a piece of paper saying which micro brand it was and attach the roller wheel on the bottom. Donate to thrift stores. The buyers will be so grateful to get them cheaper. Hard to find items, but yeah, ebayers pay a good sum for them. $35 each sometimes.

The reason of the food shortages in America is because the food stores throw away a lot of food before the expire date on the package. The stores then take it off their taxes

There needs to be accountability for throwing food away, there should be fines for the stores who do. there are plenty of places to give that food to. I'm happy for you guys for scoring. Yes indeed, some cities have trucks that pick up food like this from restaurants and stores. They give it to local food pantries and shelters.
They could just put it in a separate bin away from the garbage so those who want it can just get it.

Tonight was the first time I’ve watched this dive. I’ll tell you I’ve never seen so much food in one dumpster before! It’s my opinion stores need to either donate to agencies who distribute food to people in need or somehow alert people who do what you guys do so it can be saved. I understand why they physically don’t hand it to agencies or people because if someone gets sick that person might (it’s been done) try suing the store the food came from. I’m glad you guys are able to go dumpster diving and help others.

Throwing Away That Much Food Should Be A Crime. Businesses Should Get Triple The Fines For This! That Way It'll Motivate Them To Get Their Food To Food Banks Rather Than Carelessly Tossing It Away
Stores can’t sell anything that’s out of date so unfortunately it has to be dumped. They aren’t even allowed to let their employees go through it.
I’m 2 days behind watching!!! I’ve been sick with COVID!! That was an absolute amazing haul. If y’all had not went to the other town first, you could have very well missed out on all that food.

I completely understand about the whole eye thing. My husband has Ocular Histoplasmosis, it took the entire central vision of his left eye about 25 years ago, then about 7 years ago it started up in his right eye, luckily there is now medication that can be injected into the eye to help save his vision, my husband drove an ambulance and was a first responder, until a second heart attack put him out on disability.
The two of you are doing what you need to be doing to make ends meet and still raise your kids to be responsible, respectful young men. Like I said before, let the hater’s, hate, they have nothing better to do! BTW - I absolutely adore your dogs! My favorite breed of dog is a Shepherd!!!!

I’ve gone dumpster diving at Home Depot’s and Lowe’s hardware store and found some incredible stuff. Like glass shower doors that cost 1000$ interior doors that cost 500$ storm windows that cost 300$ so much more. My house is practically brand new from stuff these corporations throw out
