    I wouldn't mind seeing more of these pop up again. B&M don't have the most creative designers but you just can't beat their quality. Europe has drawn the short straw, we have only two and one is teeny tiny.

      Interesting how B&M doesn't make basic sit-down loopers anymore. Its gotta be a dive, or a wing, or a flyer

    I remember when I was the world's biggest B&M fan, especially for Floorlesses. They don't have great pacing but they are paced very well even though that makes no sense. They are not super forceful but they are fun.

    Can't get enough Superman krypton coaster. I think it's underrated when people talk about fiesta Texas.

  • @kryptonaight
    @kryptonaight Před 2 lety +11

    When I was a ride operator at krypton coaster, guests would always ask how long the ride is, cool to finally know, even though I don't work there anymore. Funnily enough the SOP lists the ride duration as 3 minutes, which is definitely a stretch, although we probably dispatched slow enough that guests were likely on the track for 4 to 5 minutes including break runs and lift.
    Bonus for anyone reading this one, if you are in line for krypton coaster, make sure to ride the train with the black seats, it is much smoother than the blue seat train.
    Also, please wear shoes and place loose articles to the side, anything lost on this ride is lost forever. There were times where we spent long times looking for phones only to find none.

    • @AirtimeThrills
      @AirtimeThrills  Před 2 lety +1

      Yeah those 3 minutes include pretty much the time u sit down to the time you stand up so thats pretty weak

    • @kryptonaight
      @kryptonaight Před 2 lety

      @@AirtimeThrills Yup, the time definitely includes non moving time, although some of the times in SOPs in the park are just so wrong that the hourly capacity its completely unachievable. I believe from the time the floor starts dropping to the time the floor is all the way back up is actually a bit longer than 3 minutes if I remember correctly, but operators can fairly consistently hit around the capacity of the ride (400 per hour per train) if guests are well behaved enough. Although I believe the capacity listed on the SOP is lower than the manufacturer listed capacity. Basically this can open a whole rabbit hole in itself.

    I’ve ridden Domminator, Scream the parking lot coaster, Rougarou, Kraken, and Bizzaro and I would have to agree with your assessment on all of them. The Rougarou conversion did improve the ride experience but did nothing for its overall roughness. Kraken and Dominator are the best floorless coasters I’ve been on.

Kinda weird but I personally have Scream over Bizarro now since I legitimately got a headache after 1 ride at the beginning of the day in 55 degree weather with fog, and I rode Scream in 100 degree weather in the afternoon and was confused about the hate it gets (I mean obviously bad name and no real theming plus parking lot coaster but I care more about ride experience.)

    Although B&M may not be as grandiose in their designs as Intamin; at least B&M's don't require as much maintenance/have more operating time (I'm NOT slagging Intamin, they push the boundaries, but at a cost).
    I would like to see another fresh Floorless at some point; maybe a hyper floorless.
    Only Floorless I've done are Firebird (which I can tolerate in the back row. I can excuse it's bumpiness because it's a conversion of Apocalypse/Iron Wolf and B&M's first ever coaster) and Bizarro.

    When I lived in SA, Superman was a required ride at every visit, so I collectively believe in a 4 year stretch I rode Superman 50+ times. Would have been more if not for the traffic that kept me from visiting after work.

    You didn’t include Dragon Khan at Port Aventura (Spain), the same park as Shambhala (its the red coaster underneath shambhala, probably one of the best B&M hypers)

    They should make a rollercoaster themed to math, would be thrilling and educational for the kids

    Hydra definitely has the weirdest pacing out of the bunch, probably because it’s on top of a hill and it keeps hopping from one side to the other

    The only floorless coaster I have ridden is Rougarou. To me, at least, it isn't very good, but I put that more on the rides are more than the floorless train

    These videos regarding prime ride time make me wonder... what are the best coasters overall with a long prime ride time (say, 60 seconds or more)? Maybe a top list? "Top [X] Long-Duration Coasters (That I've Ridden)"

      I should look back at all these and put together the longest ones. Some crack 100 seconds

    Interesting video. Ridden kraken dark knight and bizzaro. Kraken is good but dark knight in my opinion is better than the stats and bizzaro a little under.

    Wow I was really surprised to learn that Scream is longer than Medusa. I always compare the two (parking lot floorless coasters at the two SF parks in California) and I have always thought Medusa was a lot better.

    • @AirtimeThrills
      @AirtimeThrills  Před 2 lety

      Same. Medusa is a must ride. Scream is an afterthought

      @@AirtimeThrills Glad it isn't just me!
      also helps that Medusa is the second best coaster at SFDK and Scream is like. . . Idk 10th best maybe at SFMM

    I'm a rollercoaster enthusiast who also loves Google maps, and I also use the Pythagorean theorem for geometry on a daily basis. How do you use Google maps and the pyth. Theorem to figure out the prime track length?

    • @AirtimeThrills
      @AirtimeThrills  Před 2 lety +3

      You take the height from RCDB and use google maps to measure the length of the ground between the base of the lift to the top of the lift, then use the Pythagorean theorem to find how much track is used on the lift hill

      Wing coasters would be a great one for this category. Doing this by state would also be a good idea if they dont have any huge major parks like WI
