Wow! This is so informative and I love the breakdown of the different stages. And the detail and examples of what leaving and cleaving actually looks like in this video is really helpful. Glad I stumbled across this video.

Thank you for holding to your house for that long and your marriage experience that has existed for that long too.
However, you touched on Genesis 2:24 where Moses was talking a parable about a man who was to leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife and the 2 shall be one flesh. If you read that well, it is a man who shall leave, not men. This is a specific man that is being being referred to here. Remember also that Old Testament scriptures are dark speeches, meaning hidden parables (Psalm 78:2). Old Testament was defined by the New Testament scriptures because the Holy Spirit has come to clarify the scriptures to us, John 14:26. He will come to reveal the hidden things that were not revealed in the scriptures. Apostle Paul taught in Ephesians 5:31-32 that this same scripture in Genesis 2:24 was about the mystery of Christ and the church and not about you or me, not about any couple. So we can not use this scripture to teach about our marriages or marriage seminars.
