If Barriss were to kill Luminara, it would show that Luminara dug her own grave. Luminara's logic is extremism - Fight evil at any cost and be ready to sacrifice everything. Barriss shares the same logic, she sacrafice everything to fight evil within the Jedi Order.
Now, as an Inquisitor, Barriss may be forced to kill even if her morality tells her "don't do it." The most important questions in this case are:
    Will Luminara see her guilt?
Will she reject Barriss, or try to guide her toward the path of redemption?
What will be her final lesson?
(Personally, I hope that this lesson will be about letting go, something that Barriss is completely unfamiliar with.)
It's worth remembering that in Episode 9, we hear Luminara's voice, and it would be truly touching if the voice Rey hears is the last lesson for Barriss: "In the night, find the light."
And sorry, but in my opinion, killing anyone close to her wouldn't break Barriss. The morality of this character is extreme. She was ready to accept her death, sacrifice her best friend/sister, home, and family... Everything.
Edit: If anything could break or destroy her, it's also her morality and logic. It's not just destructive but also self-destructive. Barriss's speech: "We" fell. Barriss also speaks of herself and positions herself as part of that evil; as product of Jedii downfall.
Barriss Logic: Fight evil at all costs.
We are talking about a potential gigantic identity crisis here.
In this case, there is one important question:
Her noble morality will protect her from the Inquisition, but will it defend her from herself?
Plus, if she were to be broken for some reason, she would become a copy of Dooku, who gave up his morality and honor for an alliance with evil. I don't want this character to be a copy of anyone else. Besides, Barriss is already a extremely complex character. Let's hope they don't limit or ruin that potential.

I dunno … while its possible Barriss could sacrifice everything and join the inquisitorious, I just don’t see that for her character.
For Bariss, the weight of the clone wars and the jedis responsibility in the conflict is what drove her to betrayal. As extreme as her actions were there was always noble intention. Its not like she ever craved endless power or status like most in the empire.
Unless its to survive, I really can’t see her going against her own morals like that. Especially after going through such lengths to honor her heart. While she may ultimately kill luminara, I think its very possible Luminara is the only person capable of redeeming her. As Luminara approaches her death it may be possible that she sees the error in the jedi and admits to it, giving Bariss the chance to redeem herself and escape the pull of the dark side. Or maybe she may sacrifice herself so that Bariss can escape.
Either way, I think it would be a good oppurtunity for both Bariss and Luminara to see the error in their mistakes. And for Bariss in specific to forge her own path ahead, not as the jedi of the past or the new sith … but as her own person.

    • @hehu4025
      @hehu4025 Před 18 dny

@@shaktra1563 Barriss has already lost everything. The only thing she has left is her morality, and as I mentioned, abandoning morality for evil is Dooku's story.
Barriss is something much more than that. In my opinion, she is the most complex character. Every complex character usually has one strong trait that drives their story. Barriss doesn't have one particular trait; her complexity is extensive and based on logic and morality, which often create conflict. That's why I believe the only thing that can break her is herself. The Inquisition doesn't stand a chance.
Luminara could either push Barriss towards darkness/evil or towards light/good. It depends on what she says and in what circumstances.
(Plus, Barriss doesn't care whether she uses the light or dark side because she didn't recognize that concept. What mattered to her was how she used the Force: to harm or to help. That already sounds like a Gray Jedi.)
The second option for Barriss redemption is Ahsoka, who will start working for Organa during that time.
In my opinion, Barriss will either betray the Empire in Tales or in a series after the Bad Batch. The amount of plotlines suggests to me that this series may have arcs, so it's possible that Barriss may also appear there.

Bariss left the Order because she felt it was no longer true to its code planted a bomb. Then becomes an Inquisitor? Doesn't sound like an ideal story. She's also the reason Ahsoka left the Order which would no doubt have bothered Anakin so I doubt Vader would be too accepting of Bariss. I feel like Star Wars overlooks much of its past and makes it up as they go along.

  • @shaktra1563

The only way I can see Filoni preserving some of Bariss’ character is if Luminara sacrifices herself for Bariss. Sort of like “allowing” Bariss to kill her. That way the empire beileves she is one of them. As extreme as Barriss was its hard to believe she would hold no reservations about killing her former teacher. Even with what she did to Ashoka, there was always a reason. Theres no way she could look at the empire like they are any better than the jedi who came before.

Luminara would definitely be mortified to meet her apprentice again after everything that backstabber did. She certainly did better than Offee ever could, which will no doubt make Bariss jealous that she will never live up to the power and abilities of her former master and lead to the unfortunate death of the venerable jedi master. Even if Darth Vader hates Offee, using her to rid the galaxy of jedi would be satisfying to his cause. At this point it seems unlikely she'll meet Ventress because Asajj would not want to draw attention to herself with the Inquisition and the Empire swarming the galaxy.

I am having a different thought, as it's been on my mind since tcw season 7 where the Martinez sisters talk about the death of their parents on coruscant. The death was caused by a ship crash oh which a green skinned jedi and ( I forgot the exact description of character and her words) the sisters telling that the jedi had some weird but kind expression shown and said would fit into the character of either barris or luminara. Maybe there was some sort of chase on crosucant and /or escape chance as the under levels ov coruscabt are hard to track down. 😊 I kinda hope that to happen at some point.

My issue with the training sequence shown in the trailer simply is how weak and "destroyed in mind" barris is presented. In the season of txw when barris attacked the temple, we clearly had a fallen jedi ark of her and saw her going into extremes even in her fighting styles. She even fought with two lighstabers, that she was able to steal from a former highly trained assassin, performing in the shadows only to see her struggle with her powers. Yes, it is yet unknown if she will align with the empire entirely or try to escape which will bring me back to my Theorie from above... But if Disney really is tipping on that empathy thing.... Not worth spending money for a flat and cheap ark.

I do not see why Barriss would hesitate in that situation, or why Luminara would want her too. If Luminara is captured by the inquisatoriuse, there is pretty much only two possibilities, death or something worse. Why would she not want Barriss to be the one that ensured she did not get something worse? Especially if Barriss could use her death to facilitate an escape and perhaps help other Jedi. A number of masters sacrificed themselves so their padawans could escape. This is the same principle, only taken to the extreme. Personally, I think Barriss and Luminara were a pretty good team, they deserve nothing less.

I got to re-watch the Kenobi series because. I saw one video where they show the inquisitors standing on the platform and one of them very well could be Baris??? But I don't remember what actually happened with that exact female Inquisitor. She does have similar markings. We also know when you get a Filoni written Star Wars anything. He's aware this is a franchise that can and will, whether you like it or not, be widened exponentially past just the some 100 odd years of the Skywalker saga.
Quite frankly I grew up with the original trilogy and loved it. But I'm really tired of everything in every Star Wars live action so far is all connected to Luke, Leia, Han hell even Chewy. Let's hit Kashyyyk and get me a new Wookie. There's a whole planet full of Wookies, we get one, huh? . It's a galaxy with an outer rim, the unknown regions that Thrawn's people come from. Plus the whole Perida galaxy 🌌 we've now dipped our toe into in the Ahsoka series. There's no need to continue making everything fit within a hundred years before or after BBY. So many tales to tell of so many Jedi and Sith over the 100s of years we "have" records for and that can always be expanded as well.
Not for nothing but Disney blew the last opportunity they had to really tell one more f*#@ing Luke, Leia, and Han story. Now Carrie Fisher is dead. So Leia's really DEAD. Then they killed off Luke and Han and in turn made trash characters out of them in the post sequel trilogy of changing ideas, I like to call those movies. I mean scrips , Kylo Ren's arc drastically changed movie to movie as well as Rey's arc as well. So if it feels disjointed it's because it is! That was Disney's chance for us all ,they blew it. So no more Luke, Leia, and Han stories. Much like the Jedi order of the time. Star Wars live action stories have become dogmatic, stale, and resistant to change. Hence they've become old relics of what they once were. Not to mention those characters were only a means to a much wider end. They're not exactly fully fleshed out characters. I mean they show Luke growing stronger by changing his outfit over 3 movies, lol. Yeah he does some crap in the Dagba system with Yoda. But this has always been the tale of Darth Vader. His children are insignificant and only used as a medium to push the true story of Darth Vader forward. It happens twice, his "prospective" children drove him to madness and the Sith. Then as adults his "real" children push him back into the light. This is Vader's tale. Again Luke, Leia, especially Han. Are vehicles to drive Vader's tale forward. I'm all about Askoka and the Rebels characters in live action. I'd love some Baris in live action too. I love Thrawn the Perida galaxy as we are calling it and learning more about the force gods. Vader or now Anakin again has stories to tell yet but the kids need to stay home in the original trilogy like they were always meant to be. You wanna do some deep fake Luke building his temple or to interact with Grogu or Ahsoka ,cool. But that's it. He clearly didn't fight Thrawn's re-emergence in live action. We've seen past that in Luke's life. Once more as said ruined by the post sequels to the original trilogy. Otherwise leave the kids home with Mom ... DEAD.
Even in the Ahsoka series. Anakin asks Ahsoka "You're still mad at me about that?" He's talking about turning to the dark and becoming Darth Vader! He blows it as almost insignificant or significant but it was just another lesson learned. A step to a more enlightened version of himself not just a force ghost , he's more. Vader's the chosen one not Luke, Leia, or Han. Even if we stay in this timeline for a while surrounding BBY. Leave those 3 to short deep fake opportunities to add some pizzazz to a story not substance. Vader's story arc still has plenty more stories to tell. His children have served their purpose. Stop dragging them back in, they mean nothing to further stories.
Obviously we have written tales of those 3 in the years between trilogies but that means a recast of Luke, Leia, and Han. No one wants that . And like I've said do we really need to try to squeeze a little more money out of there soulless characters. No we don't. Hang up their ... robes. While we're at it, how about Lando finally gives Han back his shirt. That's a good plotline for Han. Huh?
You know what I'm talking about true fans 😂.

Lets be honest! Order 66 can be liberal or whatever George Lucas says it was! Remember, Obi Wan in the original Star Wars back in 1977, he told Luke, Vader hunted down and killed all the Jedi. Order 66 was never mention until later. It stands to reason, Order 66 was never going to be 100% in killing all the Jedi and Vader/inquisitors were never going to find them all. The shows, movies, books and comics over the last 33 years, it shows that to be the case! George just came with common sense. Not all of the Jedi were going to be killed or found by the Empire! Far to many fans want to romanticize about order 66 being a total whip out of all Jedi. Remember, Yoda and Obi Wan couldn't track all survivors after order 66, especially, they both went into hiding themselves. No matter, how perfect order 66 was said to be or the creation of the inquisitors, the total death of Jedi, Padawans and etc wasn't a possibility.
