To me this is an effort to keep more people playing the game for longer period. There are many people who abandon the game at very early stages. If they decide to come back, they will have more free transfers for flexibility without being penalized.
To be honest I think the 5 transfers are for people who dont play the game for a couple of weeks then come back. Its easier for them to navigate with 5 transfers and keep up with the situation.

Switching between Salah/Haaland is easier now as you can more easily keep 2-3 transfers ready to switch funds around and not have money sitting in the bank or planning moves many rounds ahead. Making Haaland the most expensive is countered by having more free transfers available to get him in/out when you want. This is further enhanced by not resetting transfers after chip use. Less need to plan around wc/fh use as you anyway will keep your saved transfers.

Excited for these new features, in theory it would make getting to Haaland easier if I didn't start with him. For example I looked at a WC in 7 when City's fixtures improve but with the extra transfers I could just hold the WC & get there using the transfers. I am disappointed that it is harder to get Haaland with his price but it will be fun building different drafts to see what works best. If I don't start with him I am sure I will have him at some point. Will be interesting to see how it works, FPL is nearly back let's go!

5 ft's doesn't counteract fewer blanks and doubles, it enhances it. You need to nail the start of the season. If you don't you need to catch up while the frontrunners save their FT's, improving their strategic position. And without the big blanks and doubles there is not as much opportunity to make up the lost points.

I'm annoyed with the changes, the price increases are good as it makes team building more difficult but yea all the free transfers, chips and fixture changes to reduce blanks/doubles helps those who don't have the stamina for FPL whereas I spend time thinking and planning weeks ahead so it's a bit frustrating but we'll see how it goes.

I would back free transfers rolling on each week with no cap. In the end the number or free transfers is the same for everyone, so why should the game limit strategy?
