In Dream Team and Paper Jam, when they yell for each other it sounds like they don’t even care, meanwhile in Bowser’s Inside Story, when one falls in battle the other bro screams as if it’s an extremely dire situation, because it is! Your brother just died in front of you! You should be screaming like that! Meanwhile, Superstar Saga 3DS sounds kinda happy.

I love how one panics when the other faints. It’s really cute how Mario or Luigi, in function who’s still up, pick up the other one when it’s the enemies’ turn. That’s shows another proof that they care for each other, of life to death. If you want a proof that they care about each other, listen their reactions in Bowser’s Inside Story! I almost thought Luigi was having a heart attack.

You know, in BIS, Luigi sounds like he's having a damn near panic attack when Mario dies. If Dream Team has anything to say about it, that reaction was perfectly justified. Even worse since he's the more defensive brother. Mario doesn't have it much better. Imagine what he must be thinking, seeing his younger brother die in front of him like that.

I kind of wish they kept those voice clips from BiS. It sounds more like Mario and Luigi actually care about the other dying. In the newer RPGs, they're just like, "Oh, he's dead... Oh, well."

I feel like Superstar Saga has the most expressive and realistic reactions. Mario's reaction to Luigi's death is the most easily visible. You can see him go wide eyed and his jaw drops, being completely surprised and panicked. The "Luigi!" yell Mario has isn't that good, though, and doesn't convey the panic of his expression. I think what would be the perfect matchup is the expressive animations of Superstar Saga combined with the panicked and distressed yelling in Bowser's Inside Story.
Unfortunately, this means nothing, since AlphaDream is gone and so is the series.
AlphaDream made a beautiful series with Nintendo’s main duet!

It is so sweet when Mario/Luigi die. Mario/Luigi picks up the other bro while trying to fight. That is true brotherly love
right, that has always been one of my favourite details about the game. When one falls the other is there to pick them up and bring them out of harm's way even if it means it'll slow them down and make them even more vulnerable to attacks themselves.

Street Jeans and Revenge Jeans Powers up Mario or Luigi when his other Bro gets KO'd.
Jumping Boots allows Mario / Luigi Jump normally even when holding a Fainted bro.
POW-Peak Badge Increases power in battle for three turns. After that, the wearer Faints.
Legendary Wear KO's Mario or Luigi in 2 Turns.
Counter Belt Greatly boosts POW whenever the Other bro gets KO'd.
1-Up Gloves Automatically uses a 1-Up Mushroom if any of the bros gets KO'd.

I’m wondering why in some moments, a brother don’t go in front of the other one for sacrifice himself. If one of them started to do that, he would start when the live of the other one is low and start to make his tired animation.

Even though the voice clips aren't as dramatic in the newer games, the way Mario picks up Luigi is pretty cool, especially with the sound
Mario refuses to let someone hurt his little brother and is more than willing to put himself in danger to protect him, and while he’s a scaredy-cat, Luigi wouldn’t hesitate to do the same if someone threatens Mario.
I've seen people in the comments say that Bowser's Inside Story's voice samples for when their brother was KO'd have more impact than the ones used in later games, and I have to agree. But the voice clips they used in these scenarios are also used in other points of the game. So why did Alphadream choose the more calm voice clips of them saying each other's name instead of ones where they scream it?
Also funny how they didn't bother to record a new voice clip for Paper Mario getting KO'd in Paper Jam, instead just using a generic panic voice clip. It actually sounds like they care more about Paper Mario getting KO'd than their own brother.
I think it’s because Paper Mario comes from a book. The Bros lived in the one where the game is. I guess that’s why they’re more worried about Paper Mario.
Think about how many times Mario and Luigi must have been KO'd. They are experienced, it's even said (by Paper Peach) that Luigi is more confident and brave than his Paper counterpart. So they probably know not to panic in the face of danger.
I just love the partners in time ones. That game itself was great and deserved a remake.

Absolutely love this detail in these games, BIS in particular. The *_"Luiigiii!!"_* and *_"Maariioooo!"_* are great expressions of brotherly bond and love along with how they carry a downed bro when an enemy attacks. This is what makes the Mario bros, *The Mario Bros.*
Bowser’s Inside Story is definitely my favourite. They seem genuinely worried for each other. Also although barely visible in the video, that game’s animation of Luigi’s rocking back and forth while holding Mario will always crack me up. Funniest part is unconscious Mario’s arm flaking around.
It really goes to show that the brothers really care about each other. After all, a brother has to look out for their brother…

BurningLowJump I like how if both Luigi and regular Mario die and you choose to run, Paper Mario runs towards both Bros., hauls one of them on his shoulder and the other on his head/back (it's kinda hard to tell), and runs off.I thought that was both touching (PM's just as nice as regular Mario and shows he really cares about their well being) and awesome (the fact that he can run off while carrying both of them).

You missed a few combinations in PiT, actually I think you missed more than half to be honest.
Surprised that SS+BM has new voice clips, they actually sound like they care now where as DT & PJ the Bros sounded like their brother dying was no big deal....which it isn't if you have 1-ups but how about when you don't? It'd be awesome if future games had different voice clips based off how many 1-ups you had.
In PJ they sound like Paper Mario dying is worse than their freaking brother dying, wtf?

The voice clips aren't new, but they were never used for deaths before.
I find it a bit weird, because those clips were usually used for when they were happy to see eachother.

Then again, noticed a similar thing for Mario + Rabbids, lot of the sounds for the Mario Bros are from the NSMB series. My guess is that they weren't able to get Charles to record new voices, but because of how often Nintendo reuses voice clips, it's not that strange to be honest.
One of the few things I hated about Dream Team was how when a bro dies they did not scream with a panicked voice, especially after Bowser's Inside Story where their screams were louder then ever before and felt like they were terrified.
They don't record an entire set of new clips per game...

Is everyone just ignoring how PIT when one of the baby’s die they scream each other’s name.
I think it’s pretty badass that when adult Mario/Luigi go down their baby selves grab them by the legs drag them away then continue the fighting themselves

Because Charles Martinet (Mario and Luigi’s voice actor) is getting a lot older.
The 3DS games are similar in this regard. For example, the "Try Again" feature was an improvement from the past RPGs. The ability to "Retry In Easy Mode" is welcoming to beginners, and the "Hint Block" gives you hints to help you in the battle.

Paper Mario reacting to both Mario and Luigi dying is hilarious. When he carries them both away when you flee makes it better especially considering the fact that a piece of paper is carrying two grown men.

Bowser's Inside Story was my first mario and luigi game so hearing the bros sound so unmoved in the games after it is surprising to me.

The bros not even being able to call out the other's name gives it an air of just shock, not being able to properly speak at that point. And also the babies have a lot of emotion in their voices
I think Bowser's inside and Supersaga 3Ds are the best, cuz Bowser's inside story one can see Mario and Luigi are so worry when partner dies, and supersaga one has the losing soundtrack.
