在那裏陽光常普照，在那裏沒有眼淚，
There the sun is always shining, There no tear will dim the eye,

At the ending of the rainbow, Where the mountains touch the sky.
有許多未來的事情，我現在不能識透，
Many things about tomorrow, I don’t seem to understand,
但我知誰管著明天，我也知誰牽我手。
But I know Who holds tomorrow, And I know Who holds my hand.
斯坦菲爾被稱為歌唱佈道家，他的詩歌激勵了無數人，當他的人生受到妻子婚外情導致離婚，並受到流言蜚語的衝擊，內心痛苦萬分且進到抑鬱狀態時，他明白到誰才有權柄掌管明天，就在這個艱難時刻他寫下了這首不朽的名曲「我知誰掌管明天」。

但救主必與我同在，祂寶血把我遮蓋。
But His presence goes before me, And I’m covered with His blood.

During the years 1948 to 1951, the years of separation, divorce and his first wife’s death, Ira is said to have sunk into deep depression. “I Know Who Holds Tomorrow” was written during this difficult and trying time in Ira’s life.
