      As much time as Leonard has missed since joining the Clippers and now again injured going into the playoffs and missed a few of the games and the Clippers loss in the first round. I can't believe the front office is happy about him playing in the Olympics, something could happen, and he gets hurt or blows out a knee and he's out half the season or more.

    • @gabemartin72
      @gabemartin72 Před měsícem +3

      Adam silver didn’t make those rules, the Spurs conceptualized that.. Silver made penalties for such especially when it was a major televised game. Everyone else tried to do what spurs started and did it well mind you, and failed badly. Now it’s abused excuse saying we are resting our key players only for them to be hurt during playoffs.

    • @michaeljohnson7945
      @michaeljohnson7945 Před měsícem +2

      Resting injured or exhausted players who need a break has become conflated with individual players who abused the system by using the leverage of guaranteed contracts and large paydays. For example, Ben Simmons refused to play for the 76ers anymore and then tried to sue the team to pay his contract. Kyrie Irving took weeks off without informing the head coach, or some of his other antics when he was in Brooklyn.
      In Kawhi Leonard's case, it's been known that he has a degenerative right knee that has curtailed his career. He also had an ACL tear and a torn meniscus in the same knee. He obviously is going to be on a minutes/games restriction. That's a different situation from players like Simmons and Irving who were finding ways not to play basketball while getting paid.

    • @LonghornsLegend

    As a Toronto fan, we had Kawhi at the height of his powers. We wanted him to stay and run it back but in hind sight I'm glad we aren't married to him. I tolerated him because of how great he was playing but I found him to be a kook - completely aloof. We had built the team to get to this point and we knew we had a shot - this would not have worked in any other situation - it was completely bizarre that Kawhi wouldn;t even be on the bench for the games he was load managing - Lowry, Siakam, Serg, Fred basically plugged their nose and did what needed to be done. I don't think he is a bad guy but he is strange - comes off a selfish. He has his uncle in his year and he is trying to protect a future that is never going to happen - he will never be healthy enough to make it through a long playoff run at this point - his knees are full on shot and I don't think he is a "play through it" type of guy. He's finished - anyone with a big portion of their money tied up on him is in trouble.

    He just has bad knees. It happened to Brandon Roy, Greg Oden, Grant Hill, Derrick Rose, Penny Hardaway, and Bernard King. It's sad, but that's the way it is.
