I am currently creating an Ohio class nuclear submarine complete with missiles. The above video allowed me to create a depth gauge so I know how deep my submarine can go once I get it finished. It will also alert me when my missiles clear the water level and go airborne.Thanks again.

Даже облегчим задачу - вместо дефицитного Д2 можешь взять современный диод Шоттки ВАТ85, а наушники использовать современные, подключенные через небольшой сетевой трансформатор на понижение (для согласования сопротивления). "без всяких антенн", блин... )

Nice idea, but the only problem is if you want to use this for long term use you will get electrolysis as you use a DC current, the result is that the electrodes will corrode away very quickly and the water will get dirty (not suitable for drinking water).

I suggest that instead of keeping it connected 24×7, instead use a push button /switch to the supply. It will check the salt deposition on wire ends.
This way the battery life was extended to 2 Yrs.

Not to mention that all those soldering points done that way will soon break apart. That is not the way you should solder components. Cold solder points oxidize and will not conduct current anymore after a while. Not to mention their fragility.
