86's is usually means to off or cancel. Comes from the Nevada\Los Vegas Mob . All problems end up in the desert 8 miles out and 6 feet deep
Cool that you finally got around to Puscifer. They definitely have some more experimental stuff for lack of a better term, but also songs like this. I'd recommend Momma Sed to hear Maynard's lower range and The Humbling River is really good too.

I really thought you had listened to some Puscifer stuff before. Gray Area is one of my favorite Maynard songs, full stop. Absolute gold mine of great music there, whole other side of Maynard. Also, happy belated new years!
Awesome reaction. I love Puscifer. I saw them in 2016 and in 2023. I loved Tool first like most people but saw Puscifer live before them. This year Maynard is having his 60th birthday and both APC and Puscifer are playing live with Primus. Then I can say I officially have seen all of Maynard's bands live.

Yay! Such a fun band, their live videos are great. Bass player is a revolving door, sort of on purpose, but they are always amazing. Lot's of people come and go in this band and they travel with back up singers and live wrestling etc.

Don’t sleep on Puscifer. This band is Maynard at his most creative in my opinion. Carina Round’s vocals and Mat Mitchell’s guitar work are the perfect compliments to Maynard’s lyrics. Don’t sleep on Puscifer.

To "86" something means to end or cancel something. Par exemple, in a restaurant setting if someone fucked up the lasagna special so badly that it could no longer be served, the waitstaff might then be told, "86 the lasagna special, Lloyd cremated it again." Edit: "Par exemple" means "for example." It's French. And I started this post before I got to the point where you looked it up. You inspire enthusiasm!!!

“The Humbling River” is another one I would suggest to check out.
Their stuff is out there, a lot of kinda inaccessible stuff. My next favorite might be Grand Canyon. I also like Potions, I think that’s a song Reznor worked on (Tapeworm).

Having watched several people react to this song I am honestly surprised at the number of people that don't know what "86'd" means. Not sure what that says about them, or me.
Have always loved this song, both for the lyrics and the tune. Enjoyed your reaction, too. Keep it up!
My suggestion would be to check out their version of "Bedlimite" live @ Arcosanti, which was a sho they recorded during the pandemic and the post production is album quality.. It's one of the best songs where their voices perfectly blend in. From the same show, both "Bullet Train to Iowa" (though the videoclip from this one is also pretty awesome) and "Fake Affront" are both top notch choices. Their whole catalog is pretty good to be fair. Also, Carina only started to collaborate with the band on their second album and only joined as full member from the third onwards. Any female voices you hear from songs prior to that are not hers, contrary to what many believe. "Momma Sed" is a pretty good example of that, although they have several other versions and reworks done later with her singing that are pretty damn good.
The Remedy to the Fear Inoculum disappointment xD I had no doubt that you will like that song, and should you give Puscifer another try, The Arsonist will be certainly to your liking as well
