- Bassmaster Elites were on Smith Lake and I have to admit I was rooting for the bank beaters to do well in their event. I know livescope is hard to beat, but I found this same pattern going down the bank years ago and was hoping it would win.

MY PROFILE:
I started fishing when I was just a young kid and instantly fell in love with Bass Fishing. Started fishing tournaments when I was in high school and have been fishing them ever since. For years I fished every tournament I could enter sometimes fishing as many as 45 tournaments a year. I qualified for the Elites when I was 30 but didn't have the sponsors or money to compete so I turned it down. Got sponsor support later and fished the FLW Tour for 2 years and having been fishing the Toyotas since 2006. I’ve won 5 Angler of the Year Titles becoming the only fishermen to have more than 3 AOYs in the Toyota series. Won numerous events along the way that has helped shape my way into working for Strike King as head of product innovation. Along the way, I picked up a camera and started filming my endeavors. I went out with Jake Whitaker and Patrick Walters, Whitaker never left the bank and Walters was doing both. Watching these guys is a real treat, and hearing them explain what they're doing is even better. I thought I'd hate being with a scoper, but it was actually fun.

Hey buddy love your videos have for long time now . I live about 45 minutes from the Sipsey River arm of Smith people have no idea how many fish are in rhe lake for one so 95% of the time we fish shallow w/chop-o , buzz bait , even burning a spinner bait some days can be incredibly fun , and last few years I’ve figured out a swim-jig 1/2 oz fished high and fast that will catch them pretty dang good . Uushoot man I love smith too buddy we live 30-40 min from pickwick or Wilson on Tennessee river and other than Jan- feb only because of the chance of a 7lb smallmouth I’d rather go to smith any day and that’s the truth especially just fun fishing it’s possible to have 30 fish days not scoping at all .
Great break down comparing a hunter gatherer covering miles of water to survive versus the gather who relies on farming various small spots...Great job mixing in on the water action...
I watched maybe 20 minutes of BASS on Smith lake total in two days. Not going to watch someone looking at a screen for hours. Own the other hand I watched MLF on the James river for several hours through out the final two days so much more entertaining. Let me be clear I am a much bigger fan of BASS and their format biggest 5 and I think the people running BASS are just better people. I am not sold on B. f. DUCKETT as some people call him. I think the people running the show need to really take a long look at what is going to keep people watching. Maybe I am wrong but I don't thank so.
The BPT James river was a MUCH better watch!

Skeet won his first BPT and it was a barn burner to the last second . Skeet caught all of his fish on a little !.5 style crankbait, very fun to watch.

The clouds showing up for the tournament really hurt the shallow bite. I think if it stayed hot and sunny like practice those shallow fish would have played a lot more.

Nothing better than watching Kennedy hunt those wolf packs. Jesse Wiggins also sent in a really good video of a huge pack on the bank in front of his house.

@@Goatse-monogatari_no_homo did you watch the video? Todd admitted it’s a good style for a day or two but you can’t sustain it for 4 days. Even Shyrock admitted the same after the first day. I don’t care if they win or not, it was still great to see a giant wolf pack in clear water chasing a big bait.

Dang livescope took us 2D’ers secret away, we figured how to find and catch suspended fish with a drop shot in the middle of no where.
Side scan, downs can, drop trolling motor and run over the top of them. Now all the fish are all sore lipped 😂😂😂

Smith lake is pretty cool, beautiful lake with a ton of fish. It’s easy to bring my young son and he can fish a shaky head and catch them and I like the top water. Selfishly living in Birmingham I would love to see them fish the classic there when the weights would be a good bit bigger and the weights would be very similar. A big bass would change the dynamic instantly. And to your point, since it’s a shorter tournament, maybe a person could beat the bank and catch larger fish.

Most of us fish one day events. I don’t have ffs and have no plans to get it.
That is my problem todd. Once I get dialed in on one bait its hard for me to put it down even when I know should.

Well, you called it, Taku wins. Not a fan of FFS events.
On a two day tournament you can win without ffs. On a 4 day event, you can’t hardly beat ffs. I watched it beat you TV. And ole Tater is getting real real good with his. Better watch him next year.

To bad a tournament series without FFS hasn't been created,I know there is 3 tournaments but a series of 8 ,put MLF and Bass out of business
They tried and failed apparently. Still no second tournament listed on TAA website. 47 boats won’t cut it

@@tylercarpenter9123 this is not always true. I have a fully rigged boat minus livescope and fish club and local stuff. I can afford to buy it I just don’t out of the principle of I don’t want to use it. If you want to use it that’s fine. I’ve never said it was cheating(it’s within the rules) and I’ve never said it was easy as it’s a skill developed like any other.

@tylercarpenter9123 I was Patrick Walters Marshall day 2, and we saw probably 2k bass and he was sitting on 0 until after 12, it's not as easy as these people think
Scope Solutions:
Pink flag must be flown while scoping.
Flag size will equal total sq inches of screens.
Fish must be boat flipped while flag is displayed or 1 lb penalty.
Something breaks while boat flipping...1 pound penalty.
Fish must be hooked in the mouth while flag is displayed.
Can weigh in 4 scope fish...#5 must be non scope...BASS
Last 30 minutes of each period non scope fish get 1 pound added to weight...must be a legal fish...MLF
Scope fish will have pink cull tags.
Cannot cull a scope fish.
Cannot cull with a scope fish.
A pink crappie jig emoji or pink Tournament org logo will be displayed under the anglers name for each scope fish weighed in.
1lb penalty for all non bass caught while flag is displayed.
Pink is for visibility and safety purposes obviously.
You left off no hooks allowed.
