- In this video we are going over the details behind why Bang is now 200mgs of caffeine. For over a decade, it was 300mgs of caffeine but now they just went down to 200mgs. A lot of energy drinks have been doing 200mgs, so were they influenced by that? We will also discuss how many drinks are staying on the shelves and what Bang Energy Drinks will be discontiued.

Having the huge amount of caffeine is sort of essential to BANG's identity for most people. But there have been times when I wanted to drink one just because I enjoy the taste of some of them, but didn't because the high amount of caffeine makes me jittery. So for me, this is a good thing.
Same here! I had a couple of Bangster Berries and Rainbow Unicorns because they were my 2 favorites, but the 300 was just too much for me all at one time. I really like to spread out my caffeine throughout the day and 300 really put a damper on that.
If monster hadn’t acquired bang, and they lowered the caffeine to 200 I’d be really happy right now.

300mg was always too much anyways, 200 is a good mark in my opinion.

Cutting to 200mg instead of 300 makes Bang a pointless purchase for me. I only ever bought them because of the increased caffiene content, none of the flavors can beat any C4 or Ghost for me so I'll just be buying those instead if I'm going for 200.

You can still find a few 300mgs, like Bucked Up, C4 Ultimate, Raze and Spike, to name a few, but if you're going to go to 200, why choose Bang when you can get something with better ingredients.
Awesome video Caffeine Man! Bang discontinued a lot of Bang flavors like Frosé Rosé, Bangster Berry, Lemon Drop, Pina Colada flavor, Key Lime Pie. I don't know why Bang discontinued a lot of flavors and I don't know why doesn't sell Bang here in Brazil since 2017. Thanks a lot!

I think americans dislike Bang with 200mg hahahahahahaha but for me Bang with 300mg of caffeine it's so strong. I prefer Bang with 200mg or European Bang Energy or one day a Brazilian Bang with 189mg of caffeine when Bang Energy is avaliable to buy in Brazil. I don't know when Bang Energy sell here in Brazil by Monster and Coca-Cola.

I pretty much moved over to Ghost last year because I love their flavors and 200mg of natural caffeine is less likely to make me a jittery mess. It’s sad to see what has happened to Bang though, and it makes sense that 24 packs of Bang have been around for a great price at Ollie’s and Dollar Tree up until recently.
I gotta say R.I.P. to Pina Colada, Key Lime Pie, and Purple Kiddles though-they were some of my Bang favorites. Most of the other discontinued flavors were kinda gross in my opinion.
Yeah, Bang has been slowly getting into discount stores for several months now and I expect to see them in a lot more stores while they sell down the old stock to make room for the 200's.
The reason why I liked Bang is because it was one of the few hardcore energy drinks at the time that had no Yohimbine in its formula which is important since it has bad effects on me. I switched to Ghost as well but I will miss Bang and I need to have additional supplements to the energy drink to have the same effect.

Actually very excited about this. I discovered Bang almost a decade ago when they were a much smaller company, and had like 5 flavors. I stopped drinking it a few years ago as 300mg was just too much for me, along with some other reasons. This is exciting for me though because I can deal with 200mg, so I'm excited to start drinking it again.
200 is a lot more commonplace and I think a lot of people will like it.
Only tried Bang twice when my job use sell them. Since then i haven't had them in a long time.
Lemondrop was amazing, A lot of the ones they kept make sense but I don't understand watermelon staying

I started buying Bangs back when they were only at GNC. Lemon Drop was my favorite for a long time but they turned it into trash. No idea what they changed I can't even finish a can of it anymore.
The BCAA changing to EAA was a problem for a lot of people. Everyone said the flavor changed after that.

Black cherry was ok but citrus twist was my go-to. I still remember when you could only get the black cans in lemon drop. Candy apple was decent. Every time I see citrus twist at the dollar store I buy them out.
They seem to be chopping a lot of good flavors but thats what Monster does.
Rockstar had an xdurance that contained 400mg in a 24oz can. That was the most I've seen in one can. Spike had 350mg in a 16oz can. First 24oz can of energy drink I had was BooKoo and I believe it had 360mg and it made me sick back in 2004.
Whats interesting about those 24oz cans is that even though it was 400 in a 24oz can, it was still "less" caffeine than Bang or Reign because it was 16.6mgs per ounce. 300mgs in a 16oz can is 18.75mgs per ounce, so the 16oz was still more potent.
2:55 read my mind right as i thought the same thing. 300 is alot and i feel like caffeine before workouts is probably super bad for you. I hate how my chest feels if i drink a monster during a workout i can only imagine a 300 mg bang. Definitely for the better.

Oh phew, luckily my Blue Razz made it in! Also, I really like the dark blue and light blue with the white for the Blue Razz BANG can! I do like this change of 200mg of caffeine because I don’t feel like having 300mg too often. The last ones I’ve had with 300mg is mostly the REIGN since I don’t see any Rockstar XDurance flavors.

300 is a lot. Only reason I even get some of the 300 cans (usually Reign) is cuz of flavor alone. I never cared to get a Bang but maybe I will with the 200mg cans.

I bought two 12 packs of my favorite flavor (cherry blade lemonade!) as soon as I heard they would be scaling back to like 10 flavors. I don't blame them but dude, they gotta keep Bang's variety. I sincerely hope they will bring them back at a later date. Gonna miss Sour Heads.
Side note: I do really love the new can design!

Monster is well known for discontinuing anything that doesnt hit their numbers. Although I am sad to see so many flavors gone, Bang should have discontinued some of their flavors over time. They are probably one of the few companies that never discontinued a flavor after so long of a time. There must have been SOME that they know werent selling well, LOL.
The bang champagne was my favorite, because it was the only flavor that no one else had similarly. But I do know that it was pretty niche, and they'll probably never bring it back, but I like most of the reign line anyway, so I'll probably just stick to that.
I was surprised Champange didnt make the cut but at the same time, a lot of the good ones got cut because a lot of them were good!
If they get rid of Purple guava pear, Froze Rose, Birthday Cake I won't buy them anymore. And I drink 1 a day. I do like Radical Skiddadle & Cotton Candy, but not enough to stick with them. I've never liked energy drinks previously, guess I'll go back to coffee!!
Thanks for doing this video for us. Now that Monster owns Bang I am done with Bang. It has been so long since I last had a Bang and really don't miss them. I used to be a huge fan of Bang and drank them all the time. Even though they had over 30 flavors there was no flavor I liked enough to want to buy a full case of. I know there will be a handful of people that will not be happy with them now being 200mg of caffeine instead of the 300mg. I do feel this is a good move by Monster to lower these to 200mg. It seems like a lot more energy drink companies are going away from the 300mg. I personally like the 200mg the best. It will be really interesting to see if they change the formula at all. I have a feeling they will change the formula a bit since they now own them and can tweak them a bit as to how they want them to be. I feel like they will do away with the EAA's. With these 12 flavors they show that they are keeping I feel like later on to get sales up more they could possibly bring back some of their other flavors that people many have wanted them to keep.
Yeah, I think a lot of people feel the same way so it will be interesting to see what happens.
Well 6 of the 11 I liked are still here, could be worse, the great Radical Skadattle lives. RIP Bangster Berry, Champagne, Cherry Blade Lemonade, Frosé Rosé, and Swirly Pop. The lower caffeine is more of a bummer, I would go for Bang over Pure Zero Rockstar because the price per MG of caffeine was lower, guess I'll be going for Pure Zero more often now.
The Pure Zeros are a great option. I usually have to buy the variety case online because they don't have alll the flavors I like in stores near me.
Just thought of this because of this video. I really enjoyed the bang flavors. However, I switched to Celsius because of the 300 MG. In Bang. I probably will go back to Bang now.

300 mg would keep me awake all day tho. You could get them for a 1.25 at dollar tree. I would drink it little by little throughout the day
Im curious once the switchover is complete, and all the old one are off shelves, if they will still be in Dollar Tree. A lot of people think they are there just to sell down old stock.
It is far as it goes to the flavors being dumb down. I think it kinda makes sense just because there was such an over abundance of different flavors. It was flooding the market in which clearly gonna be winners in losers of which flavors. We're making them the most money in which flavors will probably losing the company money so it only makes sense that they would dumb down the amount of flame first. Even though less in this situation is probably not better for the company's profit margens it makes sens

When Bang first showed up here in Europe about a year and a half ago they were only 160mg like the others. Lately it has vanished though, probably related to the Monster takeover.
Also, Reign over here has always been 200mg for as long as I've seen it on shelves (it seems to also be phased out, at least in the shops I've bought it from in the past).
Yes, due to country regulations, most countries do not allow 300mgs in an energy drink... but the US does.
Haven't had a Bang in so long due to the caffeine content - I think 200 is a good amount!

I usually stick to Rockstar so 240mg has been my minimum base level for years. BANG going down to 200mg doesn't bother me but that said, finding the 300mg cans at the dollar store has been great!
A lot of people have been loving that they are selling down their products but its going to come to an end at some point, lol!
It sucks this is being done under Monster, and I only say that because it's a great idea. If the money wouldn't be going to them, I would drink these way more often at 200mg.

Ya I was a die hard cola fan it was the only one to taste like a soda. Especially when I have given up soda in the first place. and Ya lemon drop was great. Oh well I have moved on to alain nu. So far so good with them.

This is smart, personally I always went for bang for that 300mg of caffiene if I really wanted a good preworkout, now if someone wants that extra caffeine they will be forced to go for Reign which brands itself as a kind of workout drink anyway

with Monster Beverage owning Bang now, the ONLY one I'd buy, if they bring it back, is Key Lime Pie. Nothing compared to it. It was original and delicious.
But in my area, we now how plenty of C4 and Ghost, so I'm happy to keep consuming those.
It's sad how Bang went down, but it was their own doing. MB found a keyhole in, and set their "C4" and blew it up from the inside.

I had one a little later since the take over. It's possible that I may be biased. I didn't have a can to compare it to. But I felt the post takeover had that artificial sweetener had more of that aftertaste.
Some people have said it tastes a little different.

I do a Top 20 every October of my favorites and then in December do a Top 20 of the new drinks released that year. Between those 2 videos, it pretty much keeps everyone updated on my favorite flavors and all the new flavors out. 👍
I actually just recently commented on this exact dosage on one of your videos that didn’t even talk about dosage. I simply said 300 was way too much and that it was a few companies doing it, not just bang. Bang should be a “bang” from it’s creative flavors, not from a bunch of easy to add “caffeine”. That just sounds cheap. That moose head antler company and LIT along with some RYSE powders overstep the caffeine supplement and energy drinks with 300 to 400 !! Absolutely rediculous and unnecessary. Mind your health people. Stick to 100 or a rare 200 because that’s way more than enough caffeine ♥️

I bought Bang because it was 300, but then I could drink one and go right to sleep if I wanted to. I think I’m mostly caffeine immune at this point.
@MoneyManHolmes I wouldn't call it immune exactly. You have a high caffeine tolerance so your body has adjusted to your high caffeine intake and now caffeine doesn't work as well. If you wanted to reset it, you could do a tolerance break and then cycle your caffeine so you don't become tolerant to it. they showed the 9 in the picture, but then 3 more in the video, so they are showing 12.... and I heard from Coke employees that they were keeping 12, so I think it is 12 to start. Im sure they'll add more at some point.
I guess we'll just have to keep an eye in stores or on Amazon and see how many 200mgs flavors there are.

I tried Bang when I was a Freshman in high school and became addicted pretty quickly until I drank two in a day and I had some bad overconsumption effects that made me stop energy drinks altogether for over two years. Now I mainly just stick to monster and Red Bull as my go to
Yeah... well... I wouldn't even recommend 1 Bang to a high school student. Far too much caffeine, especially after the deaths reported, even from college students, due to caffeine overdose.

I honestly don't look at the caffeine content cause I assume most 16oz canned drinks are 200mg lol.
I'm not surprised they had to discontinue so many flavors, I believe Monster said something about trimming it down when they acquired it. Still is disappointing though cause I only started drinking energy drinks a couple years ago and it always is exciting to find new ones. Now there's like 20 Bang i'll never get to try :(
Yeah, 200mgs seems to be becoming much more mainstream.
I think 300 mg is an appropriate pre-workout dose but unless you’re going to work out it’s completely unnecessary. I think the move to 200 is a good thing but the people that use it as a pre-workout probably will look for something stronger.

@@CaffeineMan1 the only flaw with that is one can of bang still wasn’t the best before a workout because the carbonation my whole workout i was burping ain’t no way I would be able to stomach two
Very true, I didnt even consider that. Its why I always thought the 12oz preworkout options were a good idea in general. You can drink them more quickly before a workout with less chance of burping.

I think its going to go over better than it is worse. There will be some angry people but I think the majority will like it.
Monster is trying to kill off the Bang brand. They got rid of a ton of great flavors, they removed ingredients and now it doesn’t feel as good anymore, they changed the taste of the drinks and they all suck now, and now they’re cutting the caffeine content. Can’t they just release a reduced caffeine version? The name is no longer fitting for the drink. They might as well discontinue or rename the brand as a whole. It no longer goes bang. I’m also pissed they discontinued Redline.
I loved whole lotta' chocolatta. Like a protein shake w/out the clumps 😋

Oh yea, there have been Protein chocolate energy drinks, but they were mostly protein shakes/drinks, with some caffeine added. Not a specific chocolate only energy drink.

I like the switch to 200mg. 300 always made me twitchy. The flavor drops are bad though. Hoping gfuel switches all their cans to 200 too
GFuel switched their new cans to 140, so I dont think they would have a 300, 140 and 200. But yeah, 300 is a lot. Understandable why theyd make you tiwtch.

Yeah, they discontinued all VPX products including Redline, Vooz, Bang Coffee, Bang Teas... everything but the 12 shown there.
Tea energy drinks are hard to find. Some of the only options may be Monster Rehab, which I don't like, Vibal tea which is a real tea with extra caffeine, Raze has a good Sunny Tea and GFuel used to have a good one with Nemesis Tea but haven't seen that around lately.
Depending on what kind of tea energy drinks you are looking for there are companies like Tea Riot and Zest Tea but those are much more natural teas, not sweet like the Bang ones.

I like the bang energy drink but I can only have one every now and then because it makes my stomach hurt soooo I stick to monster kinda excited to see if it will still make my stomach hurt or not, and I’ve had 300 mg before with no effect so it’s not the caffeine I think it might just be bang
Might be Bang, but it might be good to just quite all Monster and Bang products all together. Switch over to C4, Ghost, Gorilla Mind, Ryse.... 😉
@@CaffeineMan1 I’m affiliated with RaZe energy like every other person and they are pretty good, haven’t had ryse yet, ghost is relatively expensive like $4 a can, c4 makes me itchy, and never heard of gorilla I’ll have to try it!

Gotta be honest, 200mg of caffeine is my sweet spot, 300mg was a bit of an overkill lol… luckily for me, my most favorite Bang flavors (except Bangster Berry unfortunately) are still in the line up. I’m very curious if they will taste the same or slightly different.
A lot of people are curious is they will tweak the formula since its already been changed once before.
200mg is great news to me. Im not a fan of drinking 1 energy drink and being at my limit

I'm also much more likely to drink bang now because I prefer the 200, if I'm on the mood for a 300 MG I'm going to drink reign because I just like it's flavors that much more

bang gave people panic attacks and heart attacks reducing it to 200mg was necessary as most people could only handle half of a bang

300mg was best in the 16oz A Schoc. Plus it was sort of portion control, having 2 a day had me buzzing🤣so staying with just 1 300mg was doable. But now they are all 200mg, 2 a day is almost a regular occurrence lol
Im right there with you. I usually like to cycle my caffeine, but with a lot of drinks being 200mgs, I tend to hover around the 400mg mark more days than I would like!
Bang has always been a meh for me, always gave a weird after effect feeling also.
All the flavors always had that base flavor that was gross to me. I own the name Xyience but I really only liked 2 flavors from that brand. I don't even seek out those flavors anymore cause such better drinks have hit the market 😊

I remember Xyience supplements or drinks from back in the day. I've tried lots of brands and types of supplements over the yrs.
@@rockndave02 What was your favorite Xyience drink? Mine was Cherry Lime and Frostberry. I used to mix Hemorage, Xtreme Shocks, and other various drinks together to make better tasting drinks. My fav was a Green Hemorage mixed with a Blue Cherry Gatorade.
I should look online for variety packs of those. Sooooo strange that Ive NEVER seen them in stores near me.

Change of heart maybe. I took screen shots and as of yesterday, when people went to the website, it still said 200mgs. As of this moment, I just went back and they have changed it to 300mgs, so who knows whats going on.

They better leave it at 300, or what’s the point? Perhaps they were showing international cans. A lot of international markets cap out their energy drinks at 200 mg.
No, they actually made several posts about their "new" website being up and running. Once they took all the creatine out and everything else. They also deleted most of their Instagram page photos...pretty much everything before the purchase of Bang.

Wow, this is amazing news! I will finally start drinking Bangs! 300mg is wayyyy too much caffeine for one drink, even 200 is pushing it. Glad they finally did this
definitely a better dosage.
The drop from 300 to 200 isn’t even the big picture in my eyes. It’s just the fact bang Won’t ever be the same you’ve been documenting over the past few years just how wicked monster is and to date they’ve done their most wicked thing . Bang went through so many formula changes etc ,throughout the years now it just feels like a giant step backwards. Jack owoc had a great vision in bang everything just won’t feel the same anymore. A lot of 300mg bangs are in circulation some don’t expire till late 2024 and early 2025 so I guess it’s time to back up the truck and get as many as we can.
Especially since a lot of these drinks will start showing up in dollar stores as they start to sell down the stock.
But yeah, it'll never be the same. Its all corporate now.

Happy about the change to 200mg. Bang had great flavors but I could never drink them because of the caffeine amount and they made my sides hurt. Looking for the new cans every day but nothing yet.

I’ve never seen a 12 oz can, but I have seen it referenced on the side of their last 16 oz can (the one with super creatine omitted). I think they planned to release them in the middle of this year, but then the bankruptcy and buyout occurred.
