Therefore, it would be fairer to say that women are attracted to men who are not attracted to women who are funny or that women don't like men who like funny women. I think at the end of the day that's where all the complaints about men really come from. Women just wish that the men they find attractive were more like the men they don't find attractive. There is a huge amount of ego that goes into being a comedian. Top comedians are in tune with idea that they have to have an ego/ persona, that they have to control a room by framing/controlling the conversation and to an extent they have to appear as the wittiest person in any given situation. Notice how Conan takes a back step to allow Nikki to get her material out, whereas if he was interviewing an actor he would be more forward with framing/ controlling the questions and conversation. For men, it's more acceptable to dictate the dynamic of a conversation with good conversation and wit but with women it is seen as being yappy as Nikki mentioned

The "publication" this article references is being wildly miss-represented. A Northwestern assistant professor merely reviewed the words used to describe male and female teachers in year end reviews from a website. This is not validation of a bias, as the representation would imply. It would require much more targeted and refined testing to be able to support that assumption. The descriptions given were from college students, a population that is still currently more female then male. So, if I made the same "jump to conclusion" style of assumption, I would be well supported to say that women do not find other women funny. But... since I don't make assumptions... I wouldn't say that, because it would not be sufficiently supported by the literature.
This is an extensively researched topic, and there are many hypothesis surround the difference in humor perception. That being said it is a wild

But actually no, there is some truth to it but the reasoning is different. It's not that guys want women who laughs at their jokes. He wants women who enjoys his company.
Because from ages it's been built into us that it's always the guys job to please the women. So if a guy makes the girl laugh that means she chose him so he's happy.
So a reverse of those roles will be sort of wierd since it goes against centuries of conditioning.

I think it's just some people can't handle their partner getting a lot of attention. Or if both people are competitive by nature, it for sure wouldn't work out. Always trying to be the "funny one". But there's always exceptions 🤷‍♂️

I think a big part of it is, women on average just AREN'T as funny as men. So this rare trait is usually NOT a factor when men are evaluating what they may like in a woman.
I think for most men, finding an otherwise perfect woman who can ALSO make them laugh would be seen as an unexpected bonus.

That's actually an awesome litmus test. When you are brilliant, unapologetically feminine, straight, pretty, and funny, only male narcissists will reject you. It's a blessing in disguise. True narcissists are a relatively small percentage of the human male population. From my experience, non-narcissistic men love laughing at whoever is telling the funniest, wittiest jokes. Nikki and I both need to stop dating narcissists. I can guarantee you one or both of her parents is a narcissist. She's a comedian for mental health survival, and I wish her the best! Brilliant fore sure!
