Are those casters blind? In game 2, they spent the entire final battle explaining that the only reason Modesty was able to trade against the goliaths was his carapace upgrade. The whole time, a Mutalisk was selected. There was no carapace upgrade; Modesty had upgraded attack instead.
I don't like to criticise casters, because I know commenting a live game is actually hard. But really, for the future, I would advise you at least try to focus your attention on the game you are casting…

You know i've been watching pro SC1 for quite a while now and i've seen all ASLs and KSL and people were bashing these casters from the very beginning of their casting. At first i thought "hey they just started it's ok" but after couple of years i noticed they don't seem to progress in any way. They always call some BS like you said with muta upgrades, their game knowledge is still very poor and i beleive they don't even play sc1 or at least try it sometimes to get a good understanding of basic mechanics. You know i am noob and i don't even play sc1 but i played it a lil bit when i was young and it was enough to understand evethyng. So yeah i don't expect them to change in nearest future, Rapid is just trying too hard and saying his cringeworthy jokes(but sometimes he makes actually good ones when he's not trying too hard). NoRegret doesn't even seem to like casting sc1 and most of the time he just goes along with what other caster says.

@@user-eq3qf6ty6u I agree. They (still) don't have the slightest understanding of the game they're casting, to the point they can't even tell which player is winning.
Do you remember the Soma vs Light semi-final, game 3? Light was very obviously winning - I'm sure every viewer could tell as much - and Rapid kept making his "cringeworthy jokes", as you put it, about how Soma was performing a "fatality" on Light. It's embarrassing. They're just spouting non-stop misinformation.
I'm not sure why they're still getting hired for casting. Seriously, you could hire any high elo player and get a better cast. The first thing you need in order to cast a Starcraft game is Starcraft knowledge - just like in order to cast a basketball game, you need to understand basketball. You don't pick a football caster, put him in charge of a basketball game, and expect a good cast…

@@GrandBenja No i haven't seen that game just yet i am halfway through the whole tournament but i know exactly what you mean. Rapid always says something stupid that shows he has very little game knowledge, for example in game 1 Mind vs Stork at 6 minutes mark Rapid says that +2 attack makes siege tanks twoshot dragoons and Noregret adds "right" ... i mean that's all you need to know about these casters. I totally agree with you they are tirrible and are not improving within past few years, i have no idea why the're hiring them or why they're(casters) so lazy to play the actual game at least once in a while to have an idea of what you are talking about.

NoRegret I can sort of sympathize with as he's very much a SC2 player and has only recently started casting Brood War (relative to Tastosis and Rapid), and at least he tries to learn about Brood War from people like Tasteless, so I still think he can improve given time and experience.
I honestly don't know enough about Rapid though. All I know is that he's been around for longer than NoRegret, and he can still cast decently when he's with either of the Tastosis archon, but with someone as inexperienced as NoRegret, yea he drops the ball more often than he should. I think he just tries to be just an entertainment caster with the occasional attempt at analysis rather than Tastosis, who can do both effortlessly, and because of a community that's so used to Tastosis, that doesn't mesh well with most people.
That's just my two cents on it.

@@WonderWaffleNin616 "NoRegret I can sort of sympathize with as he's very much a SC2 player."
That's exactly our point. We're not saying that NoRegret is stupid or something. I don't have anything against that guy. We're saying he shouldn't be hired as a Starcraft caster when he is, as you said yourself, a SC2 player. I don't even blame him for being a bad caster: of course he's not going to provide good analysis about a game he isn't familiar with. I'd be just as bad if I were to cast a SC2 game. I blame the guy who offered him a job he wasn't qualified for.
It's pretty simple really. You want to cast a SC2 game? Hire a SC2 player who's knowledgeable about SC2. You want to cast a football game? Hire a former football player/manager. You want to cast a Starcraft game? Hire a Starcraft player.
It's basic human resource. You hire an employee for the job he's good at. Would you hire a plumber when you need a C++ programmer?
