- As of posting on 6-12-24, a few updates have been made to the car, but it is mostly as you see it now.
This is my newest purchase from just a week ago, I pulled it home on a trailer the previous owner let me borrow, it had been sitting for the past 15 years in various places, and was put up for sale on Facebook Marketplace local to me. Originally I was looking at a 1971 Chrysler New Yorker but passed on it due to it’s condition, thats when I made the deal for this and brought it home. Nice, Hope to see more of this one, cheers
i HAD A 62 DODGE CUSOM 880 360 TRUCK ENGINE...PRETTY MUCH SAME REAR QUARTER PANEL AS YOURS - THINK IT WAS THE NICEST CAR I EVER HAD. BLACK PAINT YOU COULD SEE YOURSELF IN...WHAT A GREAT CAR...I THINK IT WAS THE TOP OF THE LINE DODGE OFFERED IN 62...GOD LUCK WITH YOURS...
You found a really iconic car! The '62 Chrysler was a great design, especially as a two door hardtop. Not many are left in unrestored condition, and this one is going to be a handsome machine when you're done!
Thank you! It had grown to be one of my favorite cars ever! Might just keep it forever now!
Wow!...I love it! and it started right up,...amazing. Sure its kinda rough, but its all there. Good luck to ya. Looking forward to seeing it improved. Funny story: I'm an Artist and sculptor, and I built a sculpture where I recycled the dashboard of this model car, into my art. I found a mostly wrecked version of this car, in a junk yard, in the late 1970s. The car looked as though it had been hit by a train. I was able to remove some trim parts and the center dashboard console, years later I built my sculpture, with the parts. And I even sold my sculpture, in the mid 1980s, I have some photos of it.
Thats whats so sad is that a lot of them were abused and so now even the example I have is uncommon!
@@Carburetedofficial True. But yours looks pretty good, and is mostly there, and is ready to go. It's gonna take some work, but I think you can restore it.
What a great find! Good luck with it! Look forward to seeing what you do with it! We own two 60 Chryslers and two 61s....
Cool set of wheels!.Love the design of these!.😎
When I was a kid my mom drove a 62 300 4dr. Wait until you see that spaceship dash lit up at night.
I was fortunate to stumble upon this, I’m surprised how nice it is, only a few problem areas on it but very solid!
Some 40 years ago, Dad baught one of these out of a junkyard for my youngest brother. This thing was pristine, blue/blue...needed a timing chain and the carb rebuilt. Pushbutton shifter 318.
Very nice ride. Good find
Wouldn’t be a 318 in there, they only came with a 383 or a 413, dont know why someone would swap it in to a car that big either, wouldn’t be efficient or powerful enough
@@Carburetedofficial they were convinced that it was....and could well have been wrong.
Dad drove Chevrolet..I drove Fords
Beautiful car! Hope to see some updates on it. Best, Rob The Netherlands Europe
Heck yeah man! Power window option even! Luckily the taillight bezels look to be in one piece. Good ones are getting very scarce these days. Even your dash pad is decent! Headlight and turn signal bezels are easy to find.
Brakes will be fun to learn about :)
Great ride, The engine sounds good, That car has a lot of Is potential.
No LS’s will be featured on this channel, Mopar or no car!
@@Carburetedofficial 😊
The ‘62 383 is 305HP
When freeze plugs go you replace them ALL. Lucky on Chrysler big blocks none in the rear covered by the transmission. It should have 325 HP with a 4 barrel carb.
On a shoe string budget, we push them as far as we can lol
Sure that's not a two barrel....??? look closely under the air cleaner housing @ 2:00.
It is a 2 barrel, which I have since swapped out for another mid 60s 4 barrel intake, the casting date on the 2 barrel intake read 8-2-61
