I find Sarah's cooking style and grocery hauls the closest to what we eat too. Most CZcams vloggers of large families, seem to post a lot of freezer casseroles and Crock-Pot meals. Those are not things we eat at all.

@@andreasidlar7942 we should not be judging anyone. Everyone's situation is different. We don't know what goes on in their lives. Just because they do crock pot meals and freezer meals does not mean they are unhealthy. Not everyone has the money or resources to do "clean" eating. Especially if you have a large family

@@nancyfarkas3592 that wasn't my intent at all. I just meant that Crock-Pot and casseroles don't appeal to my family so I love how Sarah meal preps because it's more similar to how we like to eat and I don't know of a lot of CZcams vloggers that meal prep the way she does. No offence intended to anyone that does cook that way at all. I think it's great if it works for them

We love chickpeas so much that I buy them online, dried and in bulk to save money and control the additives. Twice a week I will soak 2 cups of dried chickpeas overnight, drain, and cook in the Instant Pot for 18 minutes. Then we freeze some to add to soups, stews, or curries and use the rest in salads and to make hummus. My freezer has a some meat, but mostly contains my home cooked bean collection: black beans, navy beans, white beans, pinto beans, and kidney beans. The Instant Pot was the best appliance I purchased in the last decade. We use it so much I'm told Santa is bringing be another one, soon.

I couldn't eat lunch meat for decades because of food intolerances so the answer was cooking extra chicken breasts and slicing up after they were cold and slicing a roast beef or turkey breast. Slicing is always s easier and thinner when the meat is cold. Whole boneless pork loin which is cheap at Sam's makes delicious sandwiches. We coat with Montreal steak seasoning and then roast uncovered. . Chill and slice the next day. We have a slicer and the pork does well in the slicer. I found that eating real meats cold was way cheaper than lunch meat in the end. but required me to think ahead. My Aldi has uncured bacon but I have not read the ingredients.

To avoid the raw egg mayo problem, try making your own using a vegan recipe.
Here is one, I am not sure if one ingredient soy milk exists but if so, maybe try this?
    1 cup (240ml) Avocado Oil
1/2 cup (120ml) Unsweetened Soy Milk
    1 Tbsp Olive Oil
    1/2 tsp Salt
    2 tsp White Vinegar
    1 Tbsp Maple Syrup

Someone probably suggested this, but you can find white cheddar cheese (cheese with on the food colouring) and also, if you want to do a big batch of grated cheese to keep on hand, after you grate it, mix it with a bit of cornstarch and then freeze. It won’t clump together and the cornstarch doesn’t effect the flavour or texture.

An idea for lunch meat would be to cook and shred a roast (beef or pork) or chicken breast/whole & then add hard boiled eggs & dill pickles, mustard &/or Mayo & season then place on bread or lettuce leaves. It is a good alternative to store bought lunch meats. Just an idea I used to make for my kids years ago. Nice to have you share this ‘one ingredient’ way of eating. It’s amazing what the manufacturers add to entice people to eat their foods. We watch for sugars as my husband was diagnosed with diabetes over 2 yrs ago which REALLY helped to clean up our act to eat cleaner. Blessings! 🤗💞

Have you roasted chickpeas ? Drain and rinse a tin, dry roast for 15 minutes at 400⁰F , them out and toss with a couple of tbsp of olive oil and whatever spices you want.. put back in the oven for another 15 minutes.. let cool before eating. Absolutely delicious! If you try this with dried ones you will need to soak and cook them for about 20-30 minutes first. Check them at 20 minutes to see if they are tender.
