That dire wolf part is so amazing
I had an interesting little experience when playing as a Smilodon on Cenozoic Survival.
It was about 3 weeks ago and I was playing as a Smilodon. I just spawned in. About 20 seconds later, I heard another Smilodon. I roared back in response. The Smilodon that I heard was another male. When we walked towards each other, we just became a small coalition without even asking each other if we even wanted to.
For some context for what happens next, I spawned in that open grassland area near the place where the horseshoe crabs are. There are a couple of trees out in the open and every server I go to, people are usually seen there. Calm and peaceful situations there can quickly escalate.
Back to the experience. My partner in arms and I then saw another pair of male Smilodons that were feeding on a quagga. I decided to spark a territorial dispute with the other coalition. I made the roaring sound with my partner and the other coalition responded and roared back. After a total of 3 roars, I then started to trot to the other coalition and growled. My partner followed me. He growled at the other coalition too. It was a standoff, with me and my partner circling the rivals. I attacked one rival, but the other rival charged at my partner. I was so focused on one rival, I didn’t know what my partner was dealing with. Chaos ensued. One rival got killed. When one rival was killed, I saw a male Smilodon running for his life. I was in hot pursuit, but decided to spare him because he was far ahead of me. When I saw another male Smilodon I joined him and regrouped.
I recorded the whole thing by pushing the F12 button. A couple of days later, I got bored and decided to watch some footage of my shenanigans in Cenozoic Survival. I watched the whole Smilodon debacle. I then noticed something. The Smilodon male that I was reunited with at the end of the fight was actually A MALE FROM THE RIVAL COALITION!! As for that other male that ran off, he was THE MALE THAT I JOINED FORCES WITH IN THE FIRST PLACE!! I laughed but I kinda felt bad that I basically betrayed someone without even knowing.
It has been a really breathtaking story. Even though the end was hilarious. 😂

I was confused for a couple minutes after the dire wolf scene, but then I realized you were talking about the smaller Smilodon fatalis. I just was I bit confused on the part about the species. Good video, very enjoyable.

1:16 smilodon did not use its teeth during battle, it scratched and pinned down its prey until it gives up, and then the sabers are used to destroy the windpipe easily
Fun fact : The teeth of a Smilodon were curved, because it hunted from the back of the prey. And when it bit down, it large canine teeth pierced the eyes. Killing the prey instantly. That way, the prey would not have to experience a painful and long-lasting death.

That statement is half true, the type of Smilodon you are referring to is Smilodon Fatalis, it is a type of Smilodon but lived in North America. It was true on what you said if you were talking about this cat. But the game is called Cenozoic Survival, and it talks about the much larger Smilodon Populator, which was much heavier and bigger than any modern-day cat in every way. In fact, it could reach over 400kg, which lions, tigers and even ligers cannot really reach today. The largest specimen of Populator reached 433kg (you can see the display in Paris.)
“At this point in time, palaeontologists aren’t sure if Smilodon was a solitary cat or if it hunted in packs”
For both Fatalis and Populator they pretty much we’re sure if it was social or not. There is evidence showing it was social, like showing life-threatening wounds that would have been impossible for it to survive on its own (can’t hunt or become an easy target for other predators to lower the competition.) Not only that but the La Brea tarpits, tar is a great preserver, so good we can see what the animal even eat, and it mainly hunted large animals, so it makes sense for them to hunt in packs to make it easier for it to take down larger prey. But Smilodon Gracilis (the even weaker cousin of Fatalis) does not have much proof at all if it was social.

Not much evidence on that, it could be right or wrong, so I don’t really know lol.
This is not much of a fact its more of a suggestion, when the Quagga hunt scene, I feel like it would have been better if you showed it hunting like a Hippo or Woolly Rhino since it hunted large animals.

No, they were not, also they are not really like apex predators. There are many terror birds and like the only one that was top predator while Smilodon was around was Titanis and it fought and normally won against Gracilis, the weakest Smilodon. In Cenozoic Survival, those terror birds are called Kelenken, and the thing is, they lived in South America and at the time of Smilodon Populator. There is no evidence on Kelenken or some other terror birds on them being social, so even 1 Populator was much more bulky and powerful compared to a Kelenken, and in a pack that Kelenken is going to die. So another words Smilodon Populator is more likely to win in a fight against a Kelenken solo or in a pack, and in that video, that trio of Smilodon’s wouldn’t flee, that pair of Kelenkens would have fled (In a realistic situation)

The biggest specimen was from fossil from Uruguay 436 kgs, but there was also a bigger specimen but it is in a private collection it was believed to weigh upto 450 kgs.

Did you know since Saber tooth cats had bobbed tails, they couldn't run very fast or far unlike modern day lions. Since of that it was harder to catch prey that was fast so they would often hunt way much bigger animals like Bison. So Charley made a mistake in giving saber tooth cats 60 stamina since they couldn't run very far. But I'm not hating on his game, it's incredible! and i can't wait untill it's finished.

Amazing! I learned so many about these cats, I love Sabertoothed cats. They amaze me with their large canine teeth and their stealth. I think this is your best Documentary so far! I never knew this game existed. I have to try it out, I've tried out Testing A now I have to try out this! The models and the scenery is amazing, looks just as amazing as Testing A. Can you maybe do a Direwolf Documentary in the future, I loved the Direwolf part the most. The Terror bird was great too! You've really out done yourself this time.

I played the game before my computer took up too much memory space and now it lags and I can't really play it anymore. I used to play as a human and make tribes with other people. I remember once when I was with this tribe in a nice spot and eventually a crocodile came and ruined the roleplay. It was fun. I'm getting my PC cleaned up soon and maybe I could have that experience once more.

Well in the Smilodon documentary I think it was from nat Geo they have said Smilodon Fatalis was about size of lion but much heavier but but Smilodon Populator from south america was bigger than modern days cats there was this skull from Uruguay which was 16 inches 436-453 kgs heaviest so far.
and people who wanted to know about how they kill their prey is biting on the neck but if the saber tooth bites anyways the tooth will break and the prey will be freed.
I liked the video, but I believe the earth is only around 7,000 years old, no offense, great video tho!
