- Located in the heart of the North Island, Pureora Forest Park is a mix of virgin, regenerating and exotic forest hosting such unexpected scenes as ancient trees crowding out a timber-miller’s tractor abandoned in the bush. Traversing this deep wilderness is an 87-kilometre trail revealing not only awe-inspiring beauty but also stories of how this special place has changed over the ages.

We love the Timber Trail, it's one of the most enjoyable for the epic scenery, awe-inspiring bridges and also the accessablity for the non-technical riders. We normally ride day trips from Pureora as a there and back up to the summit of Mt Pureora or from Ongarue via shuttle to the halfway mark and back down to the bottom.
Are there any trout fishing spots on the way?
