Yeah, my brother thought that Kung Lao was better because he had a teleport skill, so I got stuck playing Liu Kang ( P.S. I had no idea what MK was at that point, I just wanted to play with my brother, whatever game it was so I got stuck playing this cuz this was the one he always wanted to play)
I did back then. Me and my older brother had a lot of fun memories playing this

He was waiting for Goro to make a move to dodge him at the right time. He is strong but he knows his limits.
There was something special in the "elderly variant" Shang Tsung of MKSM. The aristocratic purple robes, the uncanny "Lao Tzu's evil twin" feeling, and the utter vigor with which he fought the Earth's finest warrior made him so cool to me when I first watched this intro years ago.

very nostalgic, I played this game a lot on PS2 and thought it was very good
After watching MK Onslaught intro, now I'm rewatching MK Shaolin Monks intro, I'm really happy that NRS brought this type of fighting action sequence once again for MK Ouslaught intro, it reminds me to see back in the days of the 3D era fighting games, old but gold memories
This game is NOW 15 years old and still the best

@@yunghitnit666 yeah but they weren't the true protagonist of the game, they where playable but they didn't have dialogues for the story they still have liu kang and kung lao voices.
Also kabal and erron black are of those characters that if you aren't a fan of the saga you will never reconise them, maybe you think about them as a discount darth vader and jhon marston at better.
On the other hand scorpion and sub-zero are the most famous characters of the entire series, they are know even outside of video games, so a story around them will sell better
