- It's hard to remember the last time we saw Croatia so high in the odds to win the Eurovision Song Contest (...have we even seen that before?). Today we're talking about the entry that's causing all the excitement, as well as who could be the other contenders to represent the country in Malmö, Sweden.

Even though Croatia doesn't have a win as an independent country, Yugoslavia's only win in 1989 was won by a Croatian band from Zadar, hence why the 1990 contest was held in Zagreb.
That's true!
Such a clear winner if it looks and sounds well live
They must send Baby Lasagne!
Lasagna.
@@AlcatrazHR Fair enough
Croatia have big channce to win.
Semi finals are actually re-introduced. They existed in 90s during Croatian golden days in Eurovision and when people actually enjoyed waching Dora
Well Croatia kinda did win Eurovision with the song "Rock Me Baby" as part of the Federation that was once Yugoslavia!
Never too late for another one 😉
That way Canada kinda won it too the year before
@paneperunovski 😂😂
@runovski not the same, Switzerland and Canada were never the same country if you refer to Celine Dion's victory ... because how we had it back then was that each republic sent a representative to compete in the home selection and then the winner was sent to represent the entire country, so it was Croatian Winner!
@@Berndr no matter how was the choice made, and what's their origin, they represented Yugoslavia. France has been represented by Bretons twice. If they had won and Bretagne became independent they would still be French winners. That doesn't forbid all the Croatians to be proud of their perforners
YES - The song stands out. It's one of the only songs using rock or metal elements this year. It will do well with the televote. But also, it has a lot more potential than Cha Cha Cha to do well with the juries because the song's lyrics are very sad and refer to how Croatia is being sold out and how the younger generations are moving west. It will be anthemic!
Do u really think juries care about lyrics??? Then why did they score konstrakta so low in 2022??
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yes, I asked you in another comment, but I can clearly see now you are obdessed 😅😅😅🙄 How can you even compere Cha Cha Cha with this??? 10000000 lights better is Kaarija. This is only basic bas copy, wanna be.
@@esccse30 now the question is who is really obsessed ? In every video I see this song are your pathetic comments. Accept public opinion already and tbh really nobody cares that you don't like it
I feel like if he's able to fit in that piano outro in some way from the music video, I think that could work as somewhat more of a bridge to the juries by leaning into the bittersweetness of the track a little bit more. I'm not sure what he would have to cut to be able to keep it in, but probably one of the three repeats of the chorus at the end.
Great video! I enjoyed watching it. Nice explanations and opinion expressions. I also like Misha. I think he will bring us great visual performance but I miss something in the song.
Cheers Mario! 😁
No brainer. Baby Lasagna or bust. It's a real scorcher, it's fun, it's got depth, it's got one hell of a chorus (guess we disagree on that), and the fandom has already anointed him. If Croatia sends someone else it will cause a ripple in the ESC space time continuum not unlike what happened when Poland failed to send Margaret with Cool Me Down in 2016
I agree with the appeal. I just worry about the "fandom has already anointed him" part because that's usually the precursor to outrage over any result that's not a win...
@@stu_makes_vids oh yeah. We know the fandom. Heads will roll
Omg I still remember Cool me down... such a banger
Lmao, Poland 2016 is probably one of the most loved polish entry ever in esc. So poland "failing" to send Margaret in 2016 was definitely a good thing!
12 points from France to Croatia
We need a video about Greeces 2024 Eurovision entry!
They have to send Baby Lasagne. Send Baby Lasagne, depending on staging, eurovision 2025 will be held in Zagreb. This would a first victory for Croatia 🇭🇷 as an independent nation. The last was held in that part of Europe was 2008. Zagreb hosted in 1990.
I’ve gotten so many Vatra ads across social media. I suppose that is the reason they have many views.
No
I don't agree, everything except Baby Lasagna is NQ for Croatia at ESC
Vatra bought views they are not that famous
Ako Lasagna ne bude Til na stageu onda možda ima šanse za nešto bodova žirija ako se budu previše furali na Rammstein ništa od toga, Eurovizija je woke natjecanje
Ne može, jer nismo država od interesa gospodi u ESC
I know you are a new channel and you are young and you are from Canada but Croatia already won late 80's with a croatian band for Yugoslavia, so I really recommend you to change your title asap because in Croatia this kind of information is very important and this could be recieved as unrespectful (so not to have your video titled as fals imformation or as a lie you should really change this title asap) because again in a country for Croatia this kind of information is very important!
Next time please do some research before making a title, it's just a tip from an older European CZcamsr who has experience with Eurovision since the 90's
I am Croatian and I don't see anything wrong with thr title, if there was no Croatian flag it was not Croatian victory.... Everything else you said is true
Sure not!
First, we need to wait but probably Let 3 will win.
Second, he "sings" in English
Other factors: Generic, basic/bad-copy of Manga, Maneskin and Kaarrja.
And the odds?? "Mafia" thing. Who cares about attractin gamblers odds. 🤷♂️
I just wish the chorus was more inventive
The song is incredibly creative and genius in parts... But then the chorus is a really cookie cutter rock song "blah blah blah WOOOOOAH" x4 which is a letdown. The chorus being the weakest part is a shame after how infective every other part is.
Edit: Oh shame on me for not watching the full bit before commenting this and seeing you share the exact same sentiment haha 😅
No worries! 😆
Yeah it really stops the flow of what is otherwise an incredibly addictive rhythm. Doesn't seem to be a problem for most people, but I do wonder if it will make a win less attainable than it seems.
I like it - it's anthemic. Everyone will remember it. I've seen people ripping on the choruses from other songs in other NFs and they all say it's a VERY strong chorus meaning it's potentially one of the best ones of the season.
Baby Lasagna won't win the ESC 2024, because this song is a mashup that all things already seen and reviewed at Eurovision
It's a Eurovision pattern. This year's winner should be a country that never won before. Croatia didn't, so ...
Croatia has momentum but even if they pick Baby Lasagna I don't see it as a Eurovision winning entry.
If anything it will be in the Kaarija boat where it's plausible that it could win off of televote support, but will need strong enough jury support in order for it to actually happen.
Maybe we're starting to get too many songs in the Kaarija boat (Finland, Estonia, probably the Netherlands and Croatia...)? what do you think? @@stu_makes_vids
Oh 100%, which will either result in all of them getting middling results, or one/two of them raking in big points that the others would most likely have.
Baby Lasagna is the only act that will bring Croatia to ESC final
I think it's the opposite. Baby is making the other fun songs look less well thought out.
Serbia dark horse!

Croatia will not be in the top 5. I think someone from here will win Eurovision. Ukraine, Norway, Lithuania, France, Italy
Hope not.
Croatia are totally getting top 5.
@@TheManInBlueFlamesprobably not:) but they will get a decent result. You need to be a little more objective. I really like the song but there's no way this wins.
